CALHOUN HOUR - HUNTERS
Yet another day, yet another Calhoun Hour where characters find themselves waking up in a new and unfamiliar area. The first thing characters will notice that it's dusty and dark. With almost no lighting whatsoever, characters will be unable to see anything in front of them. Are they with someone else or did they wake up alone? That's something they will have to figure out after Calhoun's announcement. "Ahem, ahem. Testing, one two three, testing. Well, gooooood evening, test subjects! Yes, you have really been knocked out for that long, but it only fits the mood of today's game." He snickers then continues. "How many of you like the horror genre? I bet half of you do, but I hate it! Cheap and cheesy effects with lame jump scares, and what is this, The Human Centipede? "100% medically accurate"? Just ugh, that's not even horror. That's just an insult to science and medicine." "Anyway, I thought I'd put my own twist to trying out this horror business, so welcome to my little haunted school! Now, all of you should find yourselves a nice little camera and pocket flashlight. I want you all to do me a little favour and take a nice photo of at least five different of my best friends down there. I'm not asking for breathtaking photos, but at least put some effort into it, test subjects. Do that and, you know what, I'm feeling generous, I'll give you whatever you want in the shop and I guess a memory or something, whatever, we'll talk later, test subjects!" And with that, it goes silent... |
Infirmary
Re: Infirmary

He stepped carefully into the room and toward Snake. "There're needles lyin' around everywhere, so watch your step! You run into anything yet?"

Yeah, thanks, Calhoun. "This place looks like it's been pretty ransacked. I don't know if -- "
There was a piercing scream from outside the room, which almost seemed to come from somewhere higher up, as though someone were falling. Then a heavy thud as something hit the floor outside the infirmary. It sounded like a body -- though Heiji wasn't sure how he knew that. He switched his light off and reached for Snake's hand. Something was scrabbling around on the floor in the hallway outside...

It took a few steps to and fro, as if unsure of exactly where they were. Could they get around it?
no subject
*Which meant that Snake crunched on a needle. The broken necked nurse whirled around and started to advance toward him.*
no subject
And her head... it was hanging limply over her back, as if some terrible accident had twisted her neck that way. "It hurts..." she moaned. "It hurts..."
"The camera flash stuns 'em!" Or at the very least, it stunned her.

*The broken neck nurse wailed at the additional light flashed into its face. She waved her arms as if to ward off a blow.*
*Hearing the nurse sounding confused and unhappy, Snake ran around the edge of the room to the door.* Heiji! Come on!

"There's a washroom and a gym off on either side of the hallway to the left!" he said. "Haven't been down to the hall on the right yet!"

His fingers found the doorknob, and he cracked the door open. It made a surprisingly loud squeak as it swung inwards, but he could no longer hear the nurse chasing them, so that was good? Probably.
Inside the gym was a large basketball court, with a locker room off to the side. Heiji described the main features of the room to Snake, though it was the lockers he was really interested in. "Wonder if there're any supplies left in here..."
Who knew, maybe they'd find a grenade in one of them. The first two he checked were empty, but the third had... a doll? "Hey, Light. There's a girl's doll in here. It's maybe a foot tall, but who'd leave somethin' like that in a locker?"
no subject
I suppose it might be there for creepy effect. *He walked over to Heiji and touched the doll, to get better idea of its features.* It seems innocent enough, although it might belong to one of the larger monsters roaming around the halls.
no subject
And anyway, it was super creepy. He turned to check another locker when the doll let out a little laugh.
no subject
*It didn't occur to him the doll might move. He heard the small body shift and jump into the air, giggling all the while.*
*Snake palmed the knife in his jacket pocket, the same knife he'd kept with him since the very beginning of the game. Only because the creepy little doll kept making sound was he able to track it.*
Heiji! *He struck the doll with the knife and his momentum threw it into the lockers with a loud bang.*
no subject
"Here, let me. I'll peek and see how much damage you did."
no subject

"Guess it was a trap after all..."
no subject
I guess. That was stupidly lucky that I hit it. If it hadn't been making all that noise, I wouldn't have been able to track it at all. *Snake reached over to pat Heiji on the shoulder.* You are all right, aren't you?
no subject
"I'm fine." But that wasn't going to stop him from touching Snake and quickly checking him over to be sure that he was unhurt as well. "You sure are lucky, you dummy. I thought I poked my way into trouble a lot; quit goin' around and touching creepy dolls, will ya?"
no subject
no subject
...Maybe. "Did you get the knife from the infirmary?"
no subject
*Although the levity was quickly quashed by the mention of the knife.* I did. Would you rather I not have it?
no subject
It was just that Snake hadn't used it for self-defense. Heiji looked away. "...I don't want anything to happen to you."
