Well... [This is where it's going to get strange.] I'll just start from the beginning.
When I regained consciousness, I was lying on the floor in the AB Room. Alfendi was standing in front of the voting machine, his hand hovering over the screen. Even in my half awake state, I could tell that something was very... off about him. He seemed like he was deeply angry, and when he realized that I was awake, it agitated him even further. He told me to go back to sleep, but obviously I didn't.
Then I asked him who our opponent was, and he said, "It doesn't matter. You're interrupting me - we're voting Betray." However, he lacked conviction. There was clear uncertainty in his tone, and despite announcing that he was picking Betray, he didn't actually do anything. Then he called me a frail, injured mouse and told me to keep my head down and my mouth shut. I think he was just trying to rile me up to keep me from noticing his uncertainty, but it didn't work.
I went over to him and asked him what the hold up was, which prompted him to threaten to slit my throat, though it was clearly an empty threat. He began to panic and then told me that he didn't actually know who we were up against. I know it sounds ridiculous, but... I don't think he was lying. He seemed genuinely distressed about it.
So then... I encouraged him to go through with his vote. It was the safest option for us, since we didn't know what kind of person was voting against us or what happened in the puzzle room. Plus Alfendi only had 5 BP, and... I didn't want him to go through what I did so early in the game. [You know, the whole starving thing.] I hope you can understand that it wasn't out of malicious intent on either of our parts.
Anyway, for the rest of the time we were in there, he continued to sling insults at me and display a maturity level that even Jake surpasses. Since he couldn't even remember the puzzle room, I was wondering if something could have happened in there to trigger his sudden... personality change.
