The Cornered Detective [closed]

After a day or two of insisting to Hershel that Snake was stupid and his face was stupid and Heiji didn't care about him anyway, SO THERE, Heiji... went looking for Snake.

In fact, now that he'd had some time to cool down, his anger (which had always been quick to come and go) had dissipated, leaving Heiji mostly with the unhappy feeling that he missed having Snake around. Maybe. A little.

Well, I was wondering...would you mind terribly giving a back rub? My shoulder's kind of bothering me. I realize this would involve me getting half dressed and find a place to lay down on the grass so if that's a bit much for you, I understand. *If he was going to prove to Heiji that he did trust him, one of the best ways was to be at his most vulnerable, so to speak.*

"You want me to -- " Heiji was stunned for a moment, blinking at Snake in surprise.

"Okay, but... I wanna take off your tie." The words were out of his mouth before he even knew what he was saying, good job Snake.

You...want to take off my tie? *He had, of course, no idea what kind of mystery his tie had on Heiji.* Of course. First let's find a nice spot on the ground where we can do this.

After a moment's thought, Heiji took off his jacket and spread it over a patch of grass near the flowers. "C'mere and kneel down. I'll spread out my jacket for ya so you don't have to lie right on the grass."

*As soon as Snake felt the jacket he knelt down. He took off his own jacket and lay it on the grass to make it easier for Heiji to untie his tie. Was Heiji going to develop a liking for ties? Who knew, but Snake didn't want to break his concentration.*

Heiji loosened the knot and slid the fabric loose, taking his time. He didn't take the tie off right away. Instead, he caught one end of the cloth in his fingers, just above Snake's left collarbone, and pulled. The tie slid silkily off Snake's shoulders, trailing the opposite end slowly behind it.

Mystery... solved?

*Well. Heiji certainly knew how to make taking off a tie rather erotic. He felt his cheeks flush with color.* Well done, Heiji. *He didn't want to know what Heiji would do with taking off his shirt. It would probably render a massage mostly impossible as he'd be too wound up to relax. So Snake unbuttoned his own shirt and set that aside as well, before he started to work on his prosthesis.*

He felt rather pleased with himself and that flush, to be quite honest. This massage idea was turning out to be rather enjoyable, and he hadn't actually gotten to the massage part.

Instead, his gaze slid downward as Snake unbuttoned his shirt. It was okay to take a nice, long look this time, right...?

*More than okay. After the last bit of straps were loosened, Snake slid off his arm and set that aside as well.*

So...did you want me to lay on my stomach for this or did you want me to stay seated?

Whoops, back to looking at Snake's face. "Just lie down. Can't really do it as well if you're sitting up."

Besides, it seemed like Snake had a lot of built-up tension in his muscles...

*Snake lay down on his belly, making himself comfortable. He didn't feel self-conscious at all with his arm off. Maybe he'd really and firmly decided to not be afraid anymore.* Most of it's in my left shoulder. That...creature grabbed my arm and I had to shake him loose so I might have pulled something.

"Yeah?" Heiji touched Snake's shoulder gently, feeling his way along the muscle. He was right -- Snake's body was wound up tight. Part of it was the encounter with the creature, but he had no doubt that another part stemmed from the continuous stress of being in the warehouse.

He began kneading at the back of Snake's neck and shoulders first, working his way over to the left shoulder as his fingers warmed in contact with Snake's skin. "Then you were lucky. At least you didn't try to punch it, like Alfendi."

*Snake made a pained sound and tried to stop it. Heiji needed to knead the knot out of his shoulder but it really quite hurt. More than he'd expected. He sucked in a breath through his teeth but didn't tell Heiji to stop.*

I heard it had a lot of teeth. With my luck it would have eaten my hand.

Heiji let up a bit, slowing so he wouldn't hurt Snake so much, though it was almost inevitable that it would have to hurt somewhat. He paused, bent over, and kissed the nape of Snake's neck.

"I'm glad you're okay," he said quietly. Then he began again, gentle but firm.

*Snake gasped as Heiji's gentle touch finally undid the knot in his shoulder. Then he truly went boneless with relief.*

Now I think I'm a lot more okay.

Heiji smiled; warmth crept into his voice as he spoke. "Glad I could help. Bluebell really did a number on ya, huh?"

With that done, Heiji swung his right leg over Snake, straddling his hips as he began to work at Snake's back. He kept up a firm, steady pressure as he did so, pausing only briefly to run the tips of his fingers over the line of Snake's spine.

"Your skin's so smooth..."

*How did Heiji do it? Catch him off guard in that unintentional way of his? He felt his cheeks heat up and he fought to keep his voice calm. All he could hope was that someone else didn't decide to stroll near them while this was going on.*

I'm glad you enjoy admiring me. You have about forever to keep doing what you're doing.

"Well, it's not like you take off your clothes all that often," said Heiji. He was blushing a little himself, though he struggled to keep any indication from his voice. "It really is nice. I bet I could touch you all day."

Not that... he was going to. He pressed down with his hands, massaging the tension slowly out of Snake's body. And then he cast about for something to talk about. "So, um... how's sleeping in the dorms?"

*Well thank you, Heiji, for giving Snake a multitude of images from what was probably an innocent statement. Snake imagined he was diving into an icy pond. He'd have to or else he was going to need to massage something else very shortly.*

There's a thought. *He finally said, with a teasing note to his voice.*

*Oh good, a safe topic of conversation!* It's quite nice in there, actually. Real pillows and covers. It's a room full of beds and I stored all my things underneath the one I claimed as mine.

Well... maybe not entirely innocent...

Heiji was suddenly and acutely aware that he was in a rather uncompromising position. But it wasn't as though they had a bed or a table for Snake to lie on, and this gave Heiji the leverage he needed, so. Probably this was okay?

"O-oh. That's too bad; I was hopin' there'd be different rooms." Of course, leave it to Calhoun to put them all in one place.

I suppose the first night the mattress was a bit hard to sleep on but really, it's a vast improvement over the ground. *Snake waved his right hand.* I think I'm done with a massage now. My shoulder feels so much better.

Heiji slid off of Snake and settled on the grass beside him. "Light? Do you mind if I try to put your arm back on? I watched ya take it off, so... as long as you gave me directions, I think I could do it."

*Snake started at the request. He blinked his eyes in surprise.* You...really want to put it back on?

"Yeah. I mean, it's important to you, right? And if you ever got injured, I could help you with it. Plus..." Heiji fussed a little with a blade of grass beside him. The interaction would also be rather intimate, and Heiji found that he wanted that part just as much. He wanted to feel Snake's fair, perfect skin under his fingertips for a little bit longer.

"...I wanna be closer to you."

*Well. Snake could hardly argue with any of those reasons. He also couldn't ignore the triphammer of his heart. Heiji really and honestly loved him as he was. What did Snake feel exactly? Certainly something that was trying to demand more of his awareness.* All right, Heiji. Can you bring it over here? I'll show you.

Heiji did as Snake asked, moving over to Snake's side so he could take direction. He knew the broad strokes, of course, and in response to Snake's instruction, he'd carefully begin the process of reattaching the prosthetic.

*It was kind of strange to tell someone how to put his arm on and arrange the straps and the brace just so. Taking his arm on and off was just something he did. Snake wondered if it was similar to describing to a child how to tie a shoe step by step. Still, with only a few slip ups, Heiji got his arm on. Snake wiggled his fingers to get the feeling back.* Thank you, Heiji. *His voice was warm.*

"You're welcome." Heiji sounded almost shy as he leaned in to kiss Snake. His cheeks radiated warmth.

His hand slipped around Snake's waist, then over his rear. "I should... check on the others. See ya later!" And then suddenly, he was headed in the other direction, out of the garden.

Had that been a... stealth grope? Not exactly; Heiji had slipped two small items into Snake's back pocket that on further inspection would reveal themselves to be a pair of wrapped condoms.
