Heiji nodded. "Yeah, and I'm sure we got a couple here that'll try to put on this "show" regardless. I'm just sayin' that even if no one succeeds in entertainin' him, well... it ain't necessarily going to be the end of the world. And either way, we're still going to be stuck in this experiment."

He considered the options. "I wouldn't really hold it against anyone to clam up about whatever it is they got to hide. Maybe what we should do is talk to a couple of the others, see what their take is on the situation. That way, we'll get a feel for who's gonna be going all out on this."

It was surprising how well Heiji seemed to be able to bounce back from the threat of betrayal, violence, and murrrderrrr. Maybe it was just that doing something about it made things seem a little less dire.
