A M B I D E X  V O T I N G Chop chop, everyone downstairs to the first floor! You're all done the puzzle rooms, so you know what to do. Well, most of you, but it's pretty basic, just enter any Ambidex Room you like (they're not elevators, you ignorant test subjects) then vote! How does voting work? Very simple! Pick Ally or Betray, and that's it! But with every round, there's always some prizes, depending on what you vote, so here's this rounds: For anyone who chooses Ally, well, if your opponent chooses Ally as well, then 2BP for each of you. You get all that friendship, blah blah, whatever. For anyone who chooses Betray, and gets a Betray in return, your BP doesn't change at all, but you do get two cans of food and 15 coins for each person, what, you have a problem with it being the same as last time? We're busy over here, quit your bellyaching. Now, the best part: for anyone who chooses Betray and their opponent chooses Ally, Calhoun will be very generous with his prizes, again! You'll get two cans of food and a memory! We're switching it up a bit. Also, as usual, those who pick Betray get 3BP instead of just 2. But if you're the poor sap that chose Ally and got stabbed in the back, well, sorry, you lose 2 BP. At least you got stabbed for the greater good, right? And plus, you might get a little something. "...You serious?" Heiji was in Hershel's personal space at once, looking him over and pulling at his sleeves and jacket to check for injuries and singled wool hair.

"What the heck you guys messin' with that screen for, anyway? You gonna be all right?"

"Yeah?" Heiji set the trombone case he was carrying (FOR SOME REASON) down on the floor. "Lemme take a look at it. Sasuke said he thought it was a sprain, but if you're still havin' trouble with it, maybe I can help."

With his... trombone case...

"Heiji, it's fine-" Hershel tried, he's not hiding any injuries in his hair, promise, though there may be some debris still in there. It was sort of a death trap in that wool.

"I burnt my leg but I think it'll be alright, I'm more worried about Ema and Jake..." He explained with a sigh. "Ema got hit in the head and Jake got hit with a lot of the shrapnel." Pointedly not explaining how the screen broke can you guess who's strong enough to break a screen in that group...

[Simon seems a little tentative, at first, but he shuffles along the floor and raises his injured foot to Heiji. His ankle's still sore, and it's definitely a sprain, but... that's way less interesting than the fucking trombone case.]

Why do you have a music thing? [that was eloquent]

Heiji could... kind of guess. "So when you mentioned 18 BP..." said Heiji, taking a step back, "What you really had in mind was them medical supplies, right? The ones you can buy at 18."

Yeah, he could totally tell how Hershel's mind worked. "Then let's hurry up and chase down that rat!"

"Oh, that? Lifted it from one of them puzzle rooms. It's pretty useful so far!" Heiji felt Simon's injured ankle with a quick, professional touch; it seemed like he was at least used to doing this much. "Yeah, it's sprained, all right. Well. You want me to try and splint it for you? Won't be as good as a real one, but..."

Wait... what was he going to use for a splint? What?

Hershel could only nod to that, it was true. Honestly he had been aiming for the medical supplies for the whole round of puzzle rooms, several people needed them, after all. "Yeah... I have enough now, though I am worried it might just be another ruse of Calhoun's."

You nailed it dude. He looked surprised a moment before smiling. "Yes, let's, he's probably by his shop or the results board, yes?"

Clive smiled brightly at Heiji as he entered the cafeteria. This was probably the best mood he's ever been in in this god forsaken place. "Heiji! I'm glad I could make it, too. It's all thanks to Snake that I can be here right now." Not Zelos, fuck that guy.

"Anyway, I'm assuming that your puzzle room went well?"

"Let's try the shop first; since no one betrayed each other this round, he probably got bored and scampered off somewhere." He looked at Hershel.

"You know, don't think he ever told us how much those things were." But how much could they possibly be? 2BP? 4?

[detectiveofthewest]

"Yeah, no one set off any traps and we ended up workin' together. Gotta say, though... at the end, it was like the PAIRed subjects were fightin' with each other more than me." But oh well. Heiji stuck a spoon in his own gruel and actually held back for once to let Clive shove some more food in his face before talking his ear off. That's what Clive was here for, right? Food, face, shoving, etc.

"Oh yeah? Did Snake bend Zelos's ear or somethin'?" That was a surprise; he hadn't thought Zelos and Snake were particularly close.

[Simon winces and bites his bottom lip when Heiji feels his ankle, doing his best not to fuss or act like a child. It's pretty difficult, but. He does his best to keep still and not tear up or generally do anything unbecoming of a 24 year old man. How the hell is this guy an adult? Unbelievable.]

I-I don't know if... I mean, won't that waste supplies? I can go without, Heiji, someone else might need a splint later. [Though he could seriously use it because he's probably gonna hurt himself even worse if this doesn't get taken care of.]

[Luckily for Hershel, Clive isn't completely asleep just yet, but he's pretty close to it so it takes a moment for his brain to register that someone is talking to him right now. He doesn't comprehend most of what Hershel is saying, but he catches the bit at the end about a palette and Calhoun's cooking, so he's assuming he's asking about the cafeteria food.]

It was... okay...

[As he gives his groggy answer, he stretches and rolls over onto his side, back facing Hershel and not opening his eyes for even a second. Sorry, you're not going to get very detailed responses from Clive or much of his attention when he's this sleepy. Keep talking at him before he's totally gone and maybe he'll wake up a little more.]

"I'm so glad the round ended well- I was a bit worried your group might not be convinced to, all things considered." Hershel answered before nodding. "Yes, let's check the shop first then."

He started over towards it. "The supplies? I don't remember if he said... I assume a few BP at least." He frowned, clearly not all that hopeful that Calhoun was going to be reasonable.

[Sometime after Simon gets his ankle treated but before he decides to move elsewhere, Clive sleepily makes his way up to the second floor in order to reach his napping destination: the garden. Simon may even be able to hear him yawning as he walks up the stairs. But as soon as Clive makes it to the top and sees him just sitting in the hallway all by himself, he looks at Simon with obvious concern and makes his way over to sit next to him.]

Simon? Are you all right?

Are you alright? [He's kind of worried again because shit you were in Gallery no one goes out unscathed. Surely you were grievously injured.]

[And now you're lying in the grass this is a bad sign???]

Heiji laughed a little. "Yeah, well. Seemed like Piper had her back up about it, and Kuzuryuu's always kinda talkin' like he needs his mouth washed out with soap. It was like I was the calm one." IMAGINE THAT, HERSHEL. JUST IMAGINE IT.

"But I guess I convinced them to try and cooperate for one round, at least. They kind of came in at a bad time, but maybe they'll be okay with doin' it in the future, too."

He frowned in turn. "Well, if he's charging a bunch for 'em, they'd better be some pretty good quality supplies. I mean, I ain't gonna let you fork over all of your stuff for a bottle of alcohol and a rag." The indignity!

...Well, at least he stops? He doesn't look entirely comfortable hanging around, though. This... might have something to do with what looks like fabric from the music room couch tied around his hand. He's keeping the bloodied side pointed away from Heiji, however.

"It's fine. I made a small mistake in the music room, that's all." Namely the mistake of holding a knife while in the same vicinity as Simon.

...Of course. [Calhoun has terrible tastes in décor, what a surprise.

When he notices the way Hershel leans against the doorframe however, he becomes concerned.]

Once he'd finished eating, his first goal is to find Simon again. He didn't seem to be doing too well after the room, and the whole knife debacle shockingly didn't seem to help with that. It's frankly a pleasant surprise to see that Heiji had gotten to him first.

"Were you going to try to do something for his leg?" He's already moving to crouch nearby, ready to assist however he can.

"Oh. Sorry. You want me to help take care of it? I'm getting pretty good at this first aid stuff." Which was... Probably not a good thing, actually.

"I was hopin' we could go track Simon down, see if we could help him if his ankle's still botherin' him and all."

Heiji gave Simon a look like don't be silly, dude. "Yep. Anyway, the whole point of supplies is to use 'em when you need them, right? What good are they going to do anyone if I'm just carryin' around all the time?"

Heiji knelt by the trombone case and opened it, removing some velvety-looking cloth cut into a long strip and a shiny metal trombone slide. Yes, there was actually an instrument inside (though probably no one was ever going to get the chance to play it now). "Hey Sasuke, can you hold his foot in place?"

[eeeek]

[G-Gah! Simon jumps out of his skin, crept up on for the second time today. Seriously, for a bigass warehouse occupied by only a dozen people, it sure is hard to get some alone time.

But all the same, he breaks out in a shy smile when Clive sits next to him. He's still not used to Clive, exactly, seeing as he hasn't known him all that long, but he likes him a lot. He's a nice guy, and Simon can empathize with him.]

Oh, uh. Hey. I'm good! I'm good.

[Which is clearly a lie, so he bites his lip and tries again.]

Um, I mean - I don't know. I'm kind of a mess. I did something stupid.

"I can probably handle it on my own. I just wanted to get it washed out properly." Let's not allow the giant gash to get infected, please. "You should go help Simon first. His ankle was bothering him during the puzzle room, too."

[Simon's eyes flicker up to Sasuke, but then he cringes and looks away. It looks like he's still feeling really, really guilty for what happened in the puzzle room. He was an idiot. He is an idiot, actually. Sasuke must hate him. Simon starts fussing even more, shaking his head and nervously pulling his leg back from Heiji.]

It's-- it's-- w-what if someone gets hurt worse than this and you can't help them because you did all this for me? It's only a sprain, I shouldn't... [but then he winces again, because ow, he shouldn't be moving his foot so much. Man, what a baby.]

[God, calm down you giant afro nerd, it's called being tired. It's a thing that happens sometimes even when you're not injured.

Except this time he's not getting a response at all so that's not going to help much with his concern, is it...]
