A M B I D E X  V O T I N G Chop chop, everyone downstairs to the first floor! You're all done the puzzle rooms, so you know what to do. Well, most of you, but it's pretty basic, just enter any Ambidex Room you like (they're not elevators, you ignorant test subjects) then vote! How does voting work? Very simple! Pick Ally or Betray, and that's it! But with every round, there's always some prizes, depending on what you vote, so here's this rounds: For anyone who chooses Ally, well, if your opponent chooses Ally as well, then 2BP for each of you. You get all that friendship, blah blah, whatever. For anyone who chooses Betray, and gets a Betray in return, your BP doesn't change at all, but you do get two cans of food and 15 coins for each person, what, you have a problem with it being the same as last time? We're busy over here, quit your bellyaching. Now, the best part: for anyone who chooses Betray and their opponent chooses Ally, Calhoun will be very generous with his prizes, again! You'll get two cans of food and a memory! We're switching it up a bit. Also, as usual, those who pick Betray get 3BP instead of just 2. But if you're the poor sap that chose Ally and got stabbed in the back, well, sorry, you lose 2 BP. At least you got stabbed for the greater good, right? And plus, you might get a little something. Heiji smiled at him. If he felt any awkwardness, it certainly didn't show on his face. "No problem. And I gotta thank you, too. Words are just words without actions, right?"

Someone was clearly happy that things had gone well this round! "Good luck on your next round, too. Though it looks like one of them minigames is actually coming up next. If you play your cards right, you could get a pretty good boost."

Wow, okay suddenly haggling seems like the most useful skill in the world. Hershel looked shocked despite himself.

"Fifteen? Calhoun, that would put me back to three!" That. Didn't sound good. Food was great even when it was terrible. "How do we even know the supplies would be more than tweezers and you're morale support?"

Heiji raised an eyebrow. He knew that sound. IT WAS THE SOUND OF HIS NEMESIS: TOKYO-BEN. "Been learnin' some on the side, huh? But yeah, came through without a scratch this time. Who woulda thought?"

"Yeah," said Heiji, putting a hand to his chin.

"That kind of currency, ya can't just ask someone to fork it over sight unseen. Otherwise, we'd be better off just usin' the leftover med kit stuff we already have. You don't mind lettin' him look at what he'd be payin' for, right?"

"Sure, though I don't think that's gonna happen," said Heiji, hoping that he was not at this very moment ensuring that it would happen. He knelt down, placed the slide, then began to wrap Simon's ankle as gently as he could while still keeping the improvised splint in place, because it seemed like Simon had enough problems right now.

"Okay. It's not cuttin' off your circulation or anything, right?"

I'll get the supplies if I really need them that badly. I don't exactly need you to spend all your BP on a few more bandages.

[ He drops the tearful act almost immediately to rock back and forth as he explains. ] Sure, I'd love to, but there's the little problem of I need to know who the supplies are for! I know you rotten test subjects, if I give you an inch you'll take the next ten miles! So there's a few littllllle rules here.

[ He holds up one....... finger? Paw finger? ] Firstly! You have to tell me who it's for and you'll get eeeeverything that test subject could need! After all, if someone's got a bunch of burns they need different supplies than someone who needs to sew their ear back on, right? That's more useful that just a general, standard first aid kit. I'm just swell.

Yeah, lucky me. At least I'm not the one falling asleep on floors.

[ Granted, he knows that she probably fell instead of... well, actually deciding to sleep there, but still. ]

[Hershel just stares at him, trying to keep this determined look thing going.] You won't be able to get supplies for a long time, Jake. We won't be winning BP again for a while probably, and when we do it will still be several rounds.

You need more than a few bandages, you need something for the burns, something to ward off infection or fight it if it happens, you probably need twine for stitching and plenty of clean bandages. You realize that, don't you?

Clive stirred a bit as he felt something nudge him, groaning in discontent at being disturbed a second time. When he cracked his eyes open and saw that it was Kuzuryuu, it only put him in an even worse mood. He doubted that this was going to be anything good, but it wasn't like he had anywhere to run, and even if he did he was too damn tired to actually move anyway. So all Clive could do was give him a wary (yet also very sleepy) look.

"What?" It was clear that he didn't have much patience right now.

Unsure look over here, still didn't trust Calhoun on his word too much. "... what about for Ema and Jake then? What would supplies for them be?"

"Yeah," said Heiji thoughtfully. "But it's kind of like dominoes, ain't it? Like when Jake betrayed you, that meant I wasn't keen on trustin' Jake. And I'm sure there were folks less inclined to trust me cause I got betrayed two rounds ago."

"Anyway, maybe not... although Snake can take care of himself, I'm sure." Actually, yeah, if they were betting on someone in a fight, Heiji would totally put his money on Snake. He finally started eating his gruel, and now he was really putting it away.

"And can more than one person split the cost?" Because that might make the price a bit more bearable.

[she hunches up a little when he starts getting near the wound on her scalp, but he is free to look. It is pretty gross because headwound, but it doesn't seem to be getting any worse.]

I've got bandages up the wazoo. I really need a nap. How are you feeling?

Since I'm such a magnanimous host, I decided to let you cheating test subjects split the cost, if you reaaaally wanted to waste BP on someone for all this 'friendship' nonsense or whatever it is you harp on about. I'll even let more than two people pool BP, imagine all the teamwork! Brings a disgusted tear to the eye.

[ And he waves his paw. ] As for what you'd get for Anger-Management Test Subject and Practically-A-Corpse-Already Test Subject it'd depend. The big one needs what, bandages, disinfectant, twine for some stitching, a bit of burn ointment, maybe some painkillers and antibiotics? That kind of deal. See, not trying to stiff you! This time.

Innnn fact I'll even show you the supplies beforehand and you can decide for yourself. Well, is that good enough or are there more complaints and whining, hm?

[he makes a face even though he knows headwounds pretty much always look bad.]

You really took a hit... and it's more than bandages. I spoke to Calhoun, he explained how the supplies worked. Apparently you tell him who the supplies are for and for fifteen BP you get whatever the person really needs. He even said he'd let us look at the supplies first and decide if it was worth it.

[And he offers a dry smile.] I'm quite well, all things considered. I'll feel better when you and Jake aren't digging me into an early grave with worry, though.

"What, you'll really let us do that?" Shocked, that made things a lot easier. He glanced at Heiji in an almost 'do you really think he's telling the truth here?' before turning back to Calhoun.

"I see..." He took a step back. "We need some time to think about this. I don't even know how Snake's hand is doing at this point."

Right, well, celebrate on the couch.

[ Finally at the couch and sitting at an angle on one side, so he can let Ema have the other side. ]
