Every third day, there would normally be an Ambidex Round going on, but today, it's different. Calhoun still screeches for everyone to wake up, that will never change, but instead of trying to rush people into a Chromatic Door, he instead splits everyone up into groups. Child Test Subject (Kariya) with Fancy Test Subject (Zelos)! That's Team One. Team Two will have the Nice Test Subject (Hershel), Hat-wearing Test Subject (Akiko), and Ditzy Test Subject (Aoi)! Team Three is the Giant Test Subject (Jake), Also Nice Test Subject (Colette), and the Blind Test Subject (Light)! Finally, the rest will be Team Four, with Tiny Test Subject (Clive), Mean Test Subject (Heiji), and Will-Gladly-Drug-Again Test Subject (Ema). Oh, why is Team One having only two people instead of three? Where is the French Test Subject (Enjorlas)? Well, he got sick too, there must be something going around, so he was also quarantined for this moment, but don't worry, Team One! [Aoi's practically been skipping everywhere she goes since she bought back her memories. How couldn't she be, after remembering such happy things? Her friends, her team, swimming, donuts...

She just hopes she can see them again soon.

Throughout the rest of the day and evening, she'll be prancing about the warehouse. She smells like apples now, too; the bathroom sink wasn't the ideal place to use her new shampoo, but sometimes a girl has to make do.

It's hard for much of anything to not be rotten in a place like this—but today is a good day.]

Heiji was in a pretty good himself, with his new memory and his brand-new shinai resting against his shoulder. Screw the rules, he had a bamboo sword.

"Hey, Aoi! You're lookin' pretty upbeat. Whatcha trade your stuff in for?"

"Two memories!" She held up an equal number of fingers, just in case anyone had any trouble counting. "And some basic hygiene stuff, but the memories're the important part. And...how'd you get enough coins for that?!" Her good mood ruined all attempts at jealously pouting at the shinai; she gave a lopsided grin instead.

Heiji laughed. "Well... I asked other people if they'd lend or trade me some, and they pulled through!"

Who'd have ever known that squirreling random crap away and being terrible at managing his priorities would end well?

"I know we're still basically in the same boat as before, but just havin' it in my hand makes me feel a lot better. So what were your memories about? Looks like they were real happy ones!"

"Was it that easy..?" She considered it—but no; she had nothing to trade, and couldn't be sure she'd earn enough coins back to pay back loans. No, she'd just have to keep saving up for her donuts.

"Oh, well, I remembered a bunch of my friends! I got to remember my swim team and the meet where we qualified for nationals, and I remembered getting donuts with my best friend." She beamed. "It wasn't real serious stuff, but I've got a much better idea of who I am this way!"

"It wasn't too bad. People are pretty nice around here." Especially people like Hershel and Colette, who would probably give someone their shirt off their backs, honestly.

"Hey, that's pretty neat! So you're a high-schooler, right? Like me and Hershel. He was on the fencin' team, I was probably on the kendo team... we kinda got a lot of athletes walking around."
