ambidex voting #8

A M B I D E X  V O T I N G

Chop chop, everyone downstairs to the first floor! You're all done the puzzle rooms, so you know what to do. Well, most of you, but it's pretty basic, just enter any Ambidex Room you like (they're not elevators, you ignorant test subjects) then vote! How does voting work? Very simple! Pick Ally or Betray, and that's it! But with every round, there's always some prizes, depending on what you vote, so here's this rounds:

For anyone who chooses Ally, well, if your opponent chooses Ally as well, then 2BP for each of you. You get all that friendship, blah blah, whatever.

For anyone who chooses Betray, and gets a Betray in return, your BP doesn't change at all, but you might get some coins for your trouble, let's saaaay, 20? Generous, I know.

Now, the best part: for anyone who chooses Betray and their opponent chooses Ally, Calhoun will be very generous with his prizes, again! You'll get 15 coins and a memory! Also, as usual, those who pick Betray get 3BP instead of just 2.

But if you're the poor sap that chose Ally and got stabbed in the back, well, sorry, you lose 2 BP. At least you got stabbed for the greater good, right? And plus, you might get a little something. He'll talk to you later about it.

But anyway, happy voting! Calhoun will see all of you later with the results.

Dating prospects are... um... yeah. [he'd sooner roll the dice on zero being a hot multibillionaire before he dated any of the other test subjects. ... okay that might be a bit extreme, but still. even if there was a dude here he was the least bit interested in, Simon's too scared of dying or triggering literally every trap in the game at once to consider anything like pursuing a romance. that is completely out of the question for him.

but in any case. He doesn't really know what to say about this Colette girl, but the idea of Heiji dating her only for them to be seperated by amnesia and quarantine is just... really, really sad. He tries to keep his spirits up.]

I don't know... I can't really see anyone here being a couple before all of this. [he pauses.] Kuzuryuu might be Jake's son, though. Maybe Jake and Piper are married and Kuzuryuu is their kid - 'cause I don't know how else you could make such a grumpy little dude.

Heiji laughed. "That's a pretty good one! Kuzuryuu's all right, though. He might be a little temperamental, but he's a good guy. You know where ya stand with him."

Even if he did have kind of a potty mouth. Gracious, Kuzuryuu. "So what's up with all these questions about the others, anyway? You worried about the voting rounds?"

Dude, he totally hates me. He's, like, the only guy in this place who I think might actually try to kill me. [though that's entirely his fault. every time he and kuzuryuu talk, he says something stupid or puts his foot in his mouth. nobody can blame kuzuryuu for maybe wanting to punch simon in the face]

[buuuut he sighs. explaining why he's asking all of these questions is a little hard.]

Th-there's a reason, but... if I tell you what it is, you can't tell anyone else, okay? I trust you won't take it the wrong way, but... everyone else... I dunno.

"He hates you?" Wow, Heiji couldn't imagine Kuzuryuu actually working up enough feeling to hate Simon. "Whatcha do, call him a first grader?" Actually, you know what. That might do it.

Huh. Well, that was weird. What kind of super-secret reason could Simon possibly have for his actions...?

"As long as it's not that you're planning to knife someone or something like that, sure."

Well, um... [man there's a list. he starts counting off reasons on his fingers.] I've called him short, like, five times... on one of those times, I said it'd be impossible for me to use him as an arm rest even though I'm taller than him, 'cause he'd beat me up, but I meant it as a compliment 'cause I was calling him strong... I asked him if he even knew how to make rice once 'cause maybe his parents never taught him how, but I didn't mean that, like, in a mean way... and I said his arms are tiny, but that's only because he looks like a little boy and I was worried he'd hurt himself if he tried cutting stuff up in the cooking contest. And I tried to feed him parfait we made by having him say "ahh" and he didn't like that. And some other things...

[blankly stares at heiji before shifting topics again]

I'd ... be a pretty bad murderer if I asked the smartest guy in here who I should kill. [he mouths the words "murderer" and "kill" because they're way too scary to actually say out loud]

"Wow. I'm kinda surprised he hasn't popped you one yet." Like. Really surprised, Simon. Kuzuryuu had a bit of a temper, but maybe he'd been trying to tamp it down lately. Heiji figured Kuzuryuu as someone who absolutely could get physical, should the situation call for it. Maybe Simon didn't qualify?

"So then what is it?" Prooobably not a good idea to tell Simon it'd been a joke, because... well, most people didn't joke about murder. HA HA HA.
