a new arrival
![]() 【 day 44 】 Hello newcomer, welcome to the 【 Warehouse 】. Once you escape your elevator, you will find yourself here. It's strangely empty for a warehouse. Aside from the elevators you've come out of, there's nothing else here. In fact, the longer you look around, the stranger everything looks. Every window has been bolted shut, with no way of removing the steel coverings. The only source of illumination comes from the florescent lights above. Along the walls are numerous amounts of surveillance cameras, watching every bit of movement and listening to the sounds of everyone and everything. Every door is locked up tight, with no clear way of opening them, and there's one giant door with a 9 painted on it. It's a rather strange place, and there seems to be a lot of people here, so go introduce yourselves? For the "old-timers" and "newly-become-old-timers", come meet your new fellow test subject. Thankfully(?) enough, no one has disappeared for this "replacement" to appear. Lucky you, you can still be a sickeningly happy family without anyone leaving. Calhoun will just pretend to barf over here while you can have your free bath of the week. |

He pauses, hands freezing as he looks up at Alfendi as he spoke. He couldn't read the tone, he was no human lie detector or anything like that so he still just couldn't tell what to make of all this, besides it was terribly, terribly sad to hear.]
... I really can't imagine waking up to find out you've been kidnapped twice, in a way. I'm sorry that's what you've been waking up to. [This was so complicated, if they were two different people then who was the actual Alfendi? Honestly this one seemed so much more human, even if he was a bit of a prat. He could deal with hot air more than he could sociopath-chan.] I wonder what triggers this change then, I suppose pain of some sort.
[Right, okay, bandaging again.]

Yes, well. The first time I woke up in this place, I was strapped to an electric chair, so. [blank stare. needless to say, it would have been easier if that wasn't the case. at least it explains the severity of his injuries?]
That being said - if you try to hurt me in order to trigger some kind of change, then they'll be rinsing your blood from the cafeteria walls for weeks. [ALFENDI TOO SOON] Besides, I don't know what's going on any more than you do, so if you're asking for my opinion, I don't have one to give.
I just assumed Zero dropped the ball when he went messing with my brain, but from Kuzuryuu's reaction - and yours - nobody else has had this happen to them.

That too soon Akiko comment makes Hershel's gaze fall, clearly uncomfortable but hey, at least he doesn't seem mad about it? More just sad because he and Sasuke just watched a fun video of Akiko in a puzzle room and it was still kind of fresh. He tries to push past it though, sort of losing some of what Alfendi said but hearing the end of it and getting the general picture, at least.]
Oh um no, never. Personality changes were always... intentional, I suppose. [Simon. Jewel of Vivarium.] If- just I wish there was some way we could try to help. I guess that's almost impossible if we don't even know what the problem really is, though.

That's asinine. The last thing I want from you is your help, or even your understanding - I just want you to keep quiet about this until I can figure out what's going on by my own terms. [he does not want an angry mob to be set upon him so yes hershel keep hush hush.
but. with Kuzuryuu, alfendi had told him not to trust the other side of him, the placid side - and he had asked kuzuryuu to keep an eye on certain people when he wasn't around. he only shared that information because he was tied to an electric chair and also scared to fucking death, but. maybe he should talk to Hershel about this.]
You shouldn't help that other Alfendi, anyway. [such a weird thing to say.] I don't trust him. [that is even weirder]

So you're asking me not to tell anyone about this? [That was fair enough, he supposed. He had no reason to trust that the others wouldn't decide he was dangerous. He liked everyone here and even he wasn't sure how some of them would react, especially after Simon.] ... Alright, I won't say anything to anyone other than Kuzuryuu.
[Yeah, wow. Don't trust me, only other me, what a thing to hear.] Why don't you? [It was worth a try.]
no subject
[just rudely asking questions after telling hershel to shut it. but yeah. serious question time. palfriendi shrugs.]
You should stop asking me stupid questions.
[well ok.]
no subject
[And he didn't need much time at all to consider that answer.] I trust him, Kuzuryuu is a good person. He wouldn't use the information to hurt or threaten you, I'm sure of it. He already knows anyway, so it's not like it's all that much of a secret.
[You're a stupid question.] Is it stupid because the answer's obvious or because you can't answer it?
