vivarium | CALHOUN HOUR

When characters begin to wake up, instead of finding themselves in the usual warehouse, they will instead find themselves in an a very unfamiliar area. Maybe they'll wake up alone, or maybe they'll wake up with someone else. Either way, the biggest point is that they're in God-knows-where and it's the start of a new Calhoun Hour.

Within seconds later, a familiar voice booms throughout the loud speakers.

"Ahem, testing, testing! Hello, can you all hear me?"

It's, without a doubt, your favourite robotic mouse, Calhoun. As usual, he sounds a cheery as ever.

"Wow, isn't this familiar? It's almost like the first time we've met, you know. Test subject in a new location, maybe alone or maybe with someone else, my charming voice rings throughout the room, trying to drown you all in an elevator. Good times!"

"Well, anyway, welcome to your new Calhoun Hour! You can see that I've taken the liberty to move you all to a more suitable location. You may not know it, with how small your brains are, but you're all stuck in a maze! I've had my fair share of running around in mazes, you know, being a mouse and all, so I want to return to favour to you humans! So, you know the drill: explore, look around, try to escape, blah blah blah, I don't need to explain all this! Just get to it! Who knows, maybe the exit here is an exit out to the real world. I might be generous like that, if you manage to find it. If not, well, I guess you can all starve here!"

He snickers, then pauses. Suddenly, a loud gunshot-like sound rings throughout the speakers, and Calhoun screams again.

"Let's get started!"

*Well. He hadn't been expecting that request. Good thing Snake could blame the sauna for the sudden flush of heat to his face.* Of course. Are you still cold?

That was all the permission Heiji needed. He tossed his jeans aside and put his arms around Snake, hugging him closely for warmth.

Whether or not Snake had realized that he'd taken his shirt off before, it would have been quite obvious that Heiji's arms and chest were bare once he was pressed up against Snake.

"Y-yeah. But I think I'll warm up pretty quick." Snake was so nice and warm, it was nice... more of that, please.

*He felt Heiji shivering next to him. Down to his bare skin. It was the kind of thing that begged to be explored. However, the cool rational part of his brain took over before his libido could. Heiji was treating him like a space heater and not for anything more at the moment. Besides, didn't he lecture Heiji about taking their time with the relationship?

*If Heiji really was lacking experience as he suspected, Snake would need to rein it in. He put an arm around Heiji's shoulders, holding him there. He leaned his cheek against the top of Heiji's head.* Feeling better?

Which prompted Heiji to snuggle a little closer. Yeah, maybe not exactly like a space heater... "Yeah."

His shivering gradually decreased as he warmed up, but he still didn't let go of Snake. "You're really okay, right? I ain't mean to shove you like that, but the glass wasn't gonna hold both of us."

No, I'm quite fine. I can sense a lot around me but in that situation, you could assess danger much faster than I could. Also...if I were to fall into the water, I have no idea what that would do to my arm. *If it stopped working, he'd be down to one working limb and possibly at an even worse disadvantage than everyone else.*

*However, he couldn't dwell completely on himself. Not anymore.* I'm glad you're safe.

"Yeah, I kinda figured." That most likely meant that Snake took his arm off when he showered, too. Of course, there were certainly instruments like watches that were only water-resistant and could take a little splashing with no harm done, but... wait, he was getting off track here.

"For a second there, I didn't know what was gonna happen. I could see there was water below, but I don't think I've ever fallen through glass like that before." Nevertheless, he sounded rather... happy?

"I'm glad I made the right call! I guess all those memories weren't for nothin' after all."

I don't think I'll doubt your ability to read a dangerous situation as long as we're here. *Sweat started to form on his forehead. Well, getting a little sweaty would be a small price to pay for helping to warm up Heiji. He started to trace little circles on Heiji's shoulder with his thumb.*

Heiji liked the sensation; in fact, he leaned into Snake in hopes that he'd do it some more. And now that he wasn't shivering, he was actually starting to realize the position that he was in. Which was, of course, being rather minimally clad and curled up right next to Snake. He wasn't sure what Detective Conan base this was, but surprisingly, he wasn't really eager to go anywhere.

"I'm glad to hear it. It's nice to know someone's got faith in me ♥." There was a playful note in his voice; apparently, he was feeling better.

*Snake chuckled at his tone.* Glad to hear you're feeling better. *Maybe a tiny bit of kissing would be all right while they were here and alone. Or rather, Snake brushed his lips over the ridge of Heiji's ear. How would he like that, for example?*

...!

Heiji shivered a little when Snake touched him, though not from the cold this time. His breath caught briefly in his throat. If Heiji's reaction was any indication, he liked this quite a lot.

Apparently, he didn't have a smart comeback for Snake this time, either.

*Oh good, he'd hate to have a sarcastic comeback for when he was genuinely trying something good here. Maybe a little kiss along his jaw, how was that, Heiji?*

Even better.

Heiji slid an arm free of Snake's shoulders, stroking his face. After a moment, he traced the side of his thumb gently over Snake's cheekbone. As if committing it to memory.

*Snake stopped his kissing to lean into Heiji's fingers.* That's very nice what you're doing.

"Well... what can I say?" asked Heiji. He leaned over and kissed Snake; by now, the icewater was just a unpleasant memory.

"I'm a nice guy."

Nice and warmed up. However, I do believe our time is up and I am feeling a tad overheated. We'll need to get ourselves assembled and fully clothed in order to traverse this maze again.

Heiji sighed, slid away from Snake, and checked on his clothes. Luckily for him, they were relatively dry now; he put them back on and was ready to go in a minute.

"Alright, let's get back out there."
