ambidex voting #13

A M B I D E X  V O T I N G

Another round, maybe this one will end better? Less blood and gore even? No? Well, here are the conditions regardless.:

For anyone who chooses Ally, well, if your opponent chooses Ally as well, then 2BP for each of you and blah blah blah, predictable. Bore him to tears why don't you.

For anyone who chooses Betray, and gets a Betray in return, everyone's BP stays the same and one of you gets fifty coins! That'd be fun, right? A cheeky little gamble. The rest get a pat on the back and that warm feeling of a vote well voted.

Last but certainly not least: for anyone who chooses Betray and their opponent chooses Ally, same deal as last time, two whole memories! Eh, eh? Come on, that's a pretty good deal, right? Take the offer! And the ally person well, they get the usual.

So, happy voting! Calhoun will see all of you later with the results.

[Meanwhile Clive immediately switches into aggressive mother hen mode as soon as he sees Hershel. Cluck cluck cluck cluck.]

No, none at all, but are you alright? You really shouldn't be walking around so much - you need to conserve your energy. Come on, let's go relax in the garden.

[If Clive was tall and strong then he would swoop Hershel right off his feet and carry him there, but unfortunately he is neither of those things so he'll just have to grab Hershel's wrist and walk him to the garden.]

[No the tables have turned, et tu Clive, etc.] Oh, I'm- alright. [He decides to just let Clive lead him there, a little amused despite himself. Clucking Clive was endearing, so sue him.

When they reach there he takes a seat on the bench, moving over for Clive to join him.]
I'm glad you're okay- and that you and Jake came to an understanding. [ngl he's a little tiny bit surprised there wasn't a betray/betray or something.] How are you doing?

[Clive sits down right next to Hershel on the bench.] Oh, that vote was nothing to be proud of, really. It only worked out because we traded our most prized possessions and agreed to only give them back if we picked Ally. [He was hoping Jake would have been willing to pick Ally without doing anything like that, but nope, he's a giant buttface.]

But I'm feeling great now, though! We had a pretty rocky time in our room at first, but... I hate to admit it, but Jake really saved the day in the end. If I had been in there with anyone else but him, I think it would have ended badly. [HAHAHAHAHAHA yeah right.] It's a shame that Wirt has left us now, but I actually think it's good that he never made it to the room - he definitely would not have had a good time in there. [Yeah, he definitely wouldn't have liked all that MURDER I mean creepy visual novel shit.]

Anyway, I noticed that Heiji has a new accessory now. That means all three of you did the grey room challenge, right? What did you get?

[Hershel makes a face.] Yes, that sounds like something Jake would suggest, if he was the one who suggested it. He's getting better but I suppose it's hard to break old habits. [Like not trusting anyone ever, what a shining star.]

[And he nods, pretty damn curious about what the heck this room was with all the weird information he's gotten about it so far. Apparently not for the faint of heart.]
I'm sure you pulled your weight just as much. You're quite good at these. [He goes a but solemn.] So he is gone- I noticed the screen earlier, I suppose there's not much else that could have been. [Still, depressing to think he's now amongst the 'possibly dead' category. That was too depressing to deal with right now so he pushes on-

And blinks, suddenly remembering the items they got.]
Oh, yes, here- [And he pulls out.... a coin? Yes, it's absolutely a hint coin, probably a gracious gift from Randall when Hershel was having trouble with a puzzle or something equally ridiculous. He holds it out for Clive to look over.] I don't really know what it is, exactly, I assume it's a lucky charm of sorts. What about you, did your group get anything?

I was the one who suggested it, actually. I asked him how he felt about picking Ally with me this time and he said he wasn't willing to risk it, so I came up with that myself since I wasn't too keen on doing a double Betray. [Well, at least it worked.]

I did, but... well, it was a pretty unique circumstance. Perhaps you'll see what I mean for yourself when you do it. Or not. I really hope you don't. [He is honestly super worried about Hershel going into this room and he was going to try not to show it too much but clearly he's doing a poor job at that. If there was an opt out for this room then he would tell Alfendi and Snake to kick Hershel out immediately.

BUT HEY LOOK AT THIS SHINY COIN, Clive is just going to take a look at it and think about that instead, yup.]
Oh, that's a charming little coin! Certainly much more pleasant to look at than Calhoun's coins. I did indeed get something as well. [And then he shows Hershel a photo, just look at cute little baby Clive and his parents with their bright smiling faces and eyes.] It's a photo of me and my parents.

[Smart move, dude. He nods.] How do you feel about Jake now, Clive? I know you were understandably not too keen on him given the betrayal that first set of rooms.

Well, at least Snake and Alfendi are quite clever. [Sigh.] Though Alfendi's reverted to being... well, that strange, listless version of himself. I think the room was hardest on him.

[Hint coins are part of their rich culture, enjoy. He leans in to see the photo, smiling probably more brightly than he had since coming out of the grey room.] Ah, that's lovely- I'm shocked Calhoun would even give that to you. [He glances over, tone softening.] They seem like lovely people.

It's... kind of complicated, honestly. We argue and get on each others' nerves almost every time we talk to each other, but sometimes I actually think it's... kind of fun? And I can see now that he's not as bad of a person as he makes himself out to be. He's even helped me out a few times himself, and I'm truly grateful to him for that. It'd be nice if we could be friends, but I'm not sure if that will ever happen. Which is quite fine by me, I have plenty of great friends already - certainly more than he'll ever have with that rotten attitude of his. [He doesn't want Hershel to think that he needs Jake's friendship or anything, because he totally doesn't.]

Oh, he has? It's been a while since he's been like that... I'll be sure to check up on him when I see him. [Poor dude.]

I'm more shocked that Calhoun even had it, honestly. [He still isn't sure how to feel about that, but he can't deny that he's really glad to have this picture.] But thank you - they were the best parents a kid could ever ask for. I'll never forget them. [And that's all he's going to say about that because he would rather not start crying again.]

You never know, strange situations like this have a way of making stranger bedfellows. [he's living the dream that one day there will be friendship here. friendship for all, etc, etc,] At the very least you're both much better than you were with each other, sometimes I was worried one of you would snap and strangle the other. [or more timeouts on elevators, that too.]

Maybe we can convince Calhoun to sell picture frames at that store of his. [given the stupid shit they go through daily it'd probably be good to protect the picture, lest one of Calhoun's stupid traps mess it up. definitely going to petition that. and he hesitates, should he be nosy... yes.] Clive, you don't have to answer, of course, but what happened in your grey room?
vengefulyears: (pic#2890694)

[personal profile] vengefulyears 2015-01-25 02:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd say that's still a very real possibility. [Clive also got another timeout on the elevator semi-recently for taking a picture of Jake without his permission. So.]

Perhaps. It would certainly be nice to have one. [If something were to ever happen to this picture, he doesn't know what he'd do. It's probably the only picture of his parents he's ever going to get in this place, so he has to take good care of it.

And then there's a long pause as he puts the picture away and considers Hershel's question, clearly looking rather uncomfortable. Finally, he sighs.]
I'm sorry, I don't think I can bring myself to talk about it.
