Another round, maybe this one will end better? Less blood and gore even? No? Well, here are the conditions regardless.:

For anyone who chooses Ally, well, if your opponent chooses Ally as well, then 2BP for each of you and blah blah blah, predictable. Bore him to tears why don't you.

For anyone who chooses Betray, and gets a Betray in return, everyone's BP stays the same and one of you gets fifty coins! That'd be fun, right? A cheeky little gamble. The rest get a pat on the back and that warm feeling of a vote well voted.

Last but certainly not least: for anyone who chooses Betray and their opponent chooses Ally, same deal as last time, two whole memories! Eh, eh? Come on, that's a pretty good deal, right? Take the offer! And the ally person well, they get the usual.

"Yeah?" That was interesting. "Even Jake? He say somethin' to you?"

Of course, probably anyone would be surprised at a reveal like that...

"Not much, mostly he just said it was a tough room. I don't think he wanted to get into it too much, given there's not much he could say to me without getting in trouble. Clive spoke a little more about it, I'm sure he told you much more, of course."

Hershel shrugged. "I don't think whatever happened shook Jake at least, he wasn't sulking or irritated like he tends to be after a bad room."

Heiji nodded. "Well, he did get outta there without getting stabbed. I'd say that'd be a plus in his book."

Getting stabbed, man. It wasn't fun. "Wonder what's gonna happen after this next round. More Calhoun Hours? More robots?"

"Given how badly he was hurt in the first grey room I imagine it must be." Hershel shook his head. "At least he's been much more careful. I wasn't too worried, Clive's very good at these rooms after all."

"I hope not..." Sigh. Fuck robots. "Maybe he'll decide to celebrate some other holiday."

"You mean like New Year's or Valentine's Day?" Boy. That sounded fun. Robots trying to smooch the test subjects against their will...

"Although I guess the Christmas one wasn't so bad. We actually got somethin' useful out of that."

"Yes, something like that. I sincerely hope it won't be Valentine's Day, there's enough of Calhoun and his obsession with making us kiss going around." He's still bitter at his scarlet letter, so sue him.

"It will be nice to get more memories back." Might as well be optimistic and not focus on gross cooties and such.

"Whattaya think you're going to remember next? More about Angela and Randall? Or your folks, maybe?"

No he's a pure maiden let him live that dream.

"I don't know, I mostly seem to have more recent memories, maybe I'll have something when I was younger? I'd like to remember a little more about my family, and Randall and Angela. I keep wondering if they stayed in Stansbury or went to school somewhere too- Randall I imagine must have wanted to go to Gressenheller, archeology fanatic that he seemed to be."

He glanced to Heiji. "What about you? Maybe you'll remember more about your family."

"I dunno. I used to think maybe I'd like to find out more about the girl from my first memory, but... I think it's fine if I don't remember right away. I mean, that'd kind of be like cheating, right?" Or. Close enough. Shh.

"Maybe it'd be nice to remember why I kept getting caught up in all these cases. Or... maybe some of my friends and family, yeah. That'd be nice."

"Maybe you'll remember that friend of yours." You know, the shitlord. Not highest level shitlord but up there. "I hope you can remember something a little more peaceful, less... well, kidnappings, bodies, things of that nature." Lightly teasing but okay yeah he's still got that worry train going about that I'm sorry dude.

"I do admit I'd like to hear how the story you have with that girl ends." Such a cute one.

"Yeah, maybe!" Heiji grinned happily at the thought. "Though I got a feeling he got into just as much trouble as I did."

He turned a little red at Hershel's next comment, glancing away. "Well... yeah, I guess I would, too. If only to know how it ended. But y'know, Kansai's a pretty big area. The chances of findin' someone like that years later, without any clues..."

"You are... well, you, Heiji. If anyone could find a needle in a haystack like that through sheer force of will it's probably you." Hershel answered with a smile. "Maybe a little luck too."

"And given the situations you remembered him in I'd say that's probably the case." He shook his head. "I'm glad you've probably had someone watching your back through all that."

Heiji laughed. "Yeah, I guess you're right. I really do hope ya remember more about your friends. They seemed pretty nice. Maybe you'll remember a crush or two."

Rest assured that if Hershel ever did, Heiji would be happy to return the shitlord favor...

Never, how dare you. He did laugh a bit at that. "I doubt it, don't get your hopes up. If I do remember something like that I'll let you know, I suppose you deserve it after all the grief I've given you over that sort of thing."

And he paused. "Just... don't tell Alfendi." He can't take anymore nectar talk.

"He's been nosin' around about you, y'know," said Heiji, looking a little annoyed.

"Won't let go of the idea that I wanna date you, either. And now he might think I'm into Clive."

"What? Why?" Hershel started, then paused. Then went a little red. "What?! Why would he think that? He-"

The icon is his face. "... honestly he's probably just having a laugh. He doesn't know about you and Snake I take it?"

"No, and I think it's better if it stays that way. If he started makin' cracks about Snake, I think I'd be tempted to pop him in the nose."

His giant, humongous, gargantuan nose. It wouldn't be a very difficult target to hit. "He wanted to know all about your friends."

"I'm sure he will, best not to mention him at all then. You know how he is." Alfendi made cracks are everyone and everything he could think of so.

"My friends? You mean here or at home?" He frowned. "Why didn't he just ask me, I hardly would hide that sort of thing from him. He's a strange bird, that one."

"Yeah, I guess you're right. He seemed interested in your friends back home. More exactly, he said you were gross and didn't have any friends, and I told him ya did. Then he seemed real interested in who they were."

Kind of... weirdly interested, really.

"Well, that does sound like him." He didn't sound upset at being called gross and friendless, again, Alfendi. Precious boy that he was.

"That's... strange. He practically refuses to talk about memories with me, especially his own. Even when I tried telling him some things about our family he didn't really seem to want to hear them, or maybe he just didn't want to dwell on what we learned." He shrugged. "I assumed his memories were painful ones so far, that he just wanted to keep things close to the chest."

Hershel... you should get better relatives...

"Yeah? Well, I bet half the stuff he'd tell you would just be a big fat lie anyway. Still, that don't exactly sound fair. Maybe you should hold out on him a little, see how mad he gets."

Better than his biological brother and dad at least?? Congratulations on that, Alfendi, what an honor.

"I suppose..." Putting his foot down and not just doing what someone asked, what a suggestion, Heiji. "Sometimes I wonder if I should just ask this Alfendi about it but- I don't know, it doesn't seem right somehow."

"Well, what about it don't seem right? You guys are related, right? You afraid something's gonna happen if ya ask?" Like maybe this...

"This Alfendi's a little... weird, but on the other hand, he's also a lot quieter. And less..." He motioned with his hands, trying to convey how enthusiastic the other Alfendi could be.

That man does have an impressive fro. "It just seems like he'd tell me just to get me to go away if I pushed enough. Let's say this Alfendi is a trance of some sort, it doesn't seem fair to use that to my advantage to get information he doesn't want me to know."

"He is, he does seem much more normal until bad things happen, then he's just... well, unnaturally calm."

Heiji looked at Hershel like he was crazy. "You're kiddin', right? It's not like you're tryin' to obtain evidence in a murder investigation -- you're just askin' him about your family. And he certainly ain't have any qualms trying to shake me down for info on you."
