ambidex voting #13
![]() Another round, maybe this one will end better? Less blood and gore even? No? Well, here are the conditions regardless.: For anyone who chooses Ally, well, if your opponent chooses Ally as well, then 2BP for each of you and blah blah blah, predictable. Bore him to tears why don't you. For anyone who chooses Betray, and gets a Betray in return, everyone's BP stays the same and one of you gets fifty coins! That'd be fun, right? A cheeky little gamble. The rest get a pat on the back and that warm feeling of a vote well voted. Last but certainly not least: for anyone who chooses Betray and their opponent chooses Ally, same deal as last time, two whole memories! Eh, eh? Come on, that's a pretty good deal, right? Take the offer! And the ally person well, they get the usual. So, happy voting! Calhoun will see all of you later with the results. |

Yeah... I woke up in the same room as her. She was groggy at first, but she was conscious for the whole thing.
[He... almost hadn't expected her to stir when he shook her shoulder then, but man is he grateful she was awake. It could have been a disaster otherwise.]

Strange, the same happened with Alfendi- he wasn't in the same room but he woke up in the room after we found him. [He places his hand on his chin thoughtfully.] That's either a bizarre coincidence or perhaps Calhoun and Zero do have some measure of control over the comas.

I wonder why it's that room in particular, though? Maybe they realize it would be too dangerous for a group to deal with it with one member unconscious?
[Since they certainly had no qualms about leaving people comatose in all the rest...]

Possibly, it would be nearly impossible in some cases. The only reason we had as much luck as we did is because Jake agreed to carry him, I'm not really sure I could have carried Alfendi around and gotten away from that creature.
Otherwise perhaps it was an important room to them? Still, I don't see why. It was quite a lot like running from those robots. [Only with less Sleepy Cat so vastly inferior, clearly.]

Snake might have been able to carry her, but... it would have only made things more complicated. [No offense meant Snake, but he doesn't fancy trying to make the blind guy give up the ability to feel his way around when there is a distinct need to be able to dash out of the room at a moment's notice, that seems like asking for trouble.]
It was larger than the other rooms, but I don't think it was necessarily more complex. The main problem was being able to get past that monster.
no subject
[He nods, that would have probably been bad.] If Zero did wake her up I suppose he was at least trying to give you all a better chance- though it raises the question of how often he puts us into comas just at random or with some purpose. [Clearly not hiatuses. Clearly.]
It's rather remarkable, isn't it? The level of technology they're wasting on this nonsense. That monster... it looked so real.

...How often has everyone fallen into one? I know I haven't yet. [Maybe they can establish a pattern that definitely isn't related to meta reasons like Real Life.]
I can't know for sure, but the robots here... they're all a lot more advanced than what people have created so far, aren't they? [He's by no means an expert on robotics, but he feels like he's never even heard of a humanoid robot that could walk, much less fluidly enough to chase down humans.]

I think Heiji never has either. Clive has quite a few times, I wonder how much of that was from the time he was starving for far too long. Jake has once, so has Ema, Alfendi has once now, I might have once, it was a little short to be normal... [What a mystery this Real Life was.] It's very sporadic, as far as I can tell there's really no way of telling it's going to happen.
[And have a nod.] I've been thinking the same. I certainly don't remember a level of technology this advanced, with the robots and with this memory business. It's always felt... well, off, hasn't it?
no subject
It doesn't fit in with how long people have been here, either, if Heiji's made it this long without falling into one. [Weird...]
Even if it was all still developing... isn't this a little too fast? It normally takes years for them to advance technology this much, right?
[Or maybe not?? This really isn't his area of expertise. Maybe they should have asked Clive.]
no subject
Maybe there are natural resistances? Also Heiji's been hurt but he's never been severely injured or starved the way Jake, Ema and Clive have. Alfendi fell into one after a serious injury too, though he seems fine now even though he's worse off. I suspect to some extent the more worn down and hurt you are the more likely it is to happen.
[He shrugs, really, all guesswork here. And more importantly-] I suppose it's possible the general public is unaware just how far technology has gone but I have to agree. This is all nearly the realm of science fiction, don't you think? It's a shame no one here seems to know more about this sort of thing... maybe Ema or Clive would.
no subject
Clive? Is he normally interested in this kind of thing?
no subject
Ema clearly cares a lot about science so she may have an idea too, though I feel like she would have mentioned it if she had. It's worth a shot with both of them either way, the worst they can say is they have no idea.

[Since he. Still doesn't talk to Clive too much. He wonders if it would be okay now... Clive didn't seem to actively hate him when he asked for a photo, at least.]
Did Skye ever remember what her field was?
