CALHOUN HOUR - HUNTERS

Yet another day, yet another Calhoun Hour where characters find themselves waking up in a new and unfamiliar area. The first thing characters will notice that it's dusty and dark. With almost no lighting whatsoever, characters will be unable to see anything in front of them. Are they with someone else or did they wake up alone? That's something they will have to figure out after Calhoun's announcement.

"Ahem, ahem. Testing, one two three, testing. Well, gooooood evening, test subjects! Yes, you have really been knocked out for that long, but it only fits the mood of today's game."

He snickers then continues.

"How many of you like the horror genre? I bet half of you do, but I hate it! Cheap and cheesy effects with lame jump scares, and what is this, The Human Centipede? "100% medically accurate"? Just ugh, that's not even horror. That's just an insult to science and medicine."

"Anyway, I thought I'd put my own twist to trying out this horror business, so welcome to my little haunted school! Now, all of you should find yourselves a nice little camera and pocket flashlight. I want you all to do me a little favour and take a nice photo of at least five different of my best friends down there. I'm not asking for breathtaking photos, but at least put some effort into it, test subjects. Do that and, you know what, I'm feeling generous, I'll give you whatever you want in the shop and I guess a memory or something, whatever, we'll talk later, test subjects!"

And with that, it goes silent...

[ it's good that heiji is at least... okay with it? better than having him go around screaming ]

Yeah, who knows what kind of ghost with unfinished business you'd find in there,

[ hahaha that's not very funny ]
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: the game's afoot!)

"You mean like Hanako-san?" Heiji laughed. Silly Jake, everyone knew ghosts didn't exist.

"I dunno, me and Sasuke found a bunch of robots in the washroom back during the blackout. You never know..." He pushed the door open, creeeeeeak how spooky.

Hanako-san?

[ the fuck is that, he's not japanese but he walks through the door cautiously. it's empty and the only sound is dripping water from a toilet or sink or something. hmm. ]

Doesn't seem to be anything in here.
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: what the shit)

[personal profile] detectiveofthewest 2015-04-17 04:19 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's an urban legend. Kinda like Bloody Mary. You go into a girls' washroom and knock on the third stall door three times, and ask, 'Are you there, Hanako-san?'. Then this girl answers. Oh yeah, and one story is if you go inside after that, you'll get eaten by a giant lizard that spoke in a girl's voice to lure you in."

Heiji wandered into the washroom, taking a cursory look around until he reached the very end and shrugged. Then he turned towards Jake. "Yeah, I don't s -- "

Out of the corner of his eye, he caught it -- a hint of movement in the mirror, a school uniform. Then the mirror he was standing a foot or two in front of shattered. A figure wearing a bag over its head lunged through and grabbed Heiji by the shirtfront. He had time to register that the bag was covered in dark stains that looked like blood; the area around where eyeholes had been cut into the bag was still dampened.

What. The. Shit.

[ what. japan, you're fucking weird as hell, what the shit... also, he could also say what the shit on the cheap jump scare with the equally cheap ghost. get these motherfucking ghosts out his motherfucking life. ]

[ jake grabs onto the front of heiji's shirt, pulling him backwards, and grips onto the ghost's hand as tightly as possible, in hopes that would loose its grip. he doesn't exactly want to break someone's neck until he has to. ]
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: serious)

Come on Jake, would you have been happier if it was a zombie dog.

The sound of the ghost's breathing through its makeshift mask was strangely heavy and wet. It grabbed Jake's wrist with its free hand and began to drag both of them backwards, wow, it was going to need more rope.

Heiji's gaze slid over to the sink, where several pieces of the mirror had fallen during the ghost's entrance. He grabbed a large shard of the mirror and jammed it into the ghost in the easiest part he could reach, which was at the junction of its neck and shoulder. Blood spurted from the wound and the ghost's grip suddenly loosened for a moment; Heiji pulled away and tried tugging Jake backwards with him.

[ he would have been 100% way more happier with a zombie dog. at least he knows how to deal with those instead 2spoopy ghosts ]

[ once the reflection's grip loosens, jake jumps backwards, letting heiji tug him slightly. gross, ghost blood, how great is that to have on you, but jake makes sure to stand well away from the reflection's grasps. he will crush its head if he has to but brain matter is slippery as hell so he'd rather now ]

Get your photo in now, if you want.
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: ?)

Oh well, fine. Heiji retrieved his camera and shot a quick picture of the ghost. Although to be quite honest, now he sort of felt bad, I mean clearly the ghost was an asshole but now it was bleeding all over and still making those raggedy-ass breathing noises.

BUT DIDN'T JAKE WANT TO SEE WHAT WAS UNDER THAT BAG, THOUGH

"You gonna take one?" Or look and see what was behind the mirror, come on Jake you knew you wanted to. It was probably spooooky.
fairsfair: ((‘A`))

[personal profile] fairsfair 2015-04-18 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
[ he just nods and grabs his own camera out of his pocket. he doesn't bother looking through the lenses though. he just aims it at the reflection and snaps a photo. he doesn't care if it looks decent or not. he doesn't give a shit what calhoun things ]

[ jake puts away his camera afterwards and just waved a hand towards the ghost. HE'S NOT CURIOUS LIKE YOU HEIJI he just wants to get this thing over with ]

We done here, or do you want to play detective a bit more?
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: I was sweatin' bullets)

[personal profile] detectiveofthewest 2015-04-18 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
Jake, you beef jerky, how were you going to get a Fatal Frame like that? Were you even trying?

"Well..." Heiji looked doubtfully at the ghost, then through the mirror. Probably on the other side was a giant spray-painted picture of a man's wide-open mouth eating the mirror whole, what fun.

"Guess it's possible some stuff could be hidden back there, but these flashlights are so dim we might just end up steppin' on broken glass."
fairsfair: ((`ー´)ノ)

[personal profile] fairsfair 2015-04-21 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
[ hell no he's not trying. what do you take him for, hershel?? he's not a goodie two shoes who does the extracurricular work in school. he's the one who slacks off and leaves everything to the last minute and surprisingly passes ]

Hey, if you want to go back there, then be my guest. You can go ahead and take my flashlight, but I'd pass on squeezing through to find Calhoun's treasures back there.

[ that sounds like effort so ehhh he'll pass. he does have his lighter on him, so if heiji wants to make some sort of torch, that works too ]
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: !)

[personal profile] detectiveofthewest 2015-04-21 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
But if you don't do extra credit how will you get all the cool lenses?? And the extra costumes, don't tell me you don't want that blinged out J necklace and tiger fur collar...

Heiji frowned a little at the mirror, then decided he should at least try and get a closer look. Of course, in order to do that, he needed to get the ghost out of the way. He grabbed the prone ghost's arm and tugged him forward. The glass underneath the ghost's body made little tinkling noises as he did so.

"Okay, then let's haul this guy outta the hole and prop him up in one of the stalls. Can't really see anything with him blocking the way." Yes, clearly this would not result in a terrible surprise for anyone later on.
