CALHOUN HOUR - HUNTERS

Yet another day, yet another Calhoun Hour where characters find themselves waking up in a new and unfamiliar area. The first thing characters will notice that it's dusty and dark. With almost no lighting whatsoever, characters will be unable to see anything in front of them. Are they with someone else or did they wake up alone? That's something they will have to figure out after Calhoun's announcement.

"Ahem, ahem. Testing, one two three, testing. Well, gooooood evening, test subjects! Yes, you have really been knocked out for that long, but it only fits the mood of today's game."

He snickers then continues.

"How many of you like the horror genre? I bet half of you do, but I hate it! Cheap and cheesy effects with lame jump scares, and what is this, The Human Centipede? "100% medically accurate"? Just ugh, that's not even horror. That's just an insult to science and medicine."

"Anyway, I thought I'd put my own twist to trying out this horror business, so welcome to my little haunted school! Now, all of you should find yourselves a nice little camera and pocket flashlight. I want you all to do me a little favour and take a nice photo of at least five different of my best friends down there. I'm not asking for breathtaking photos, but at least put some effort into it, test subjects. Do that and, you know what, I'm feeling generous, I'll give you whatever you want in the shop and I guess a memory or something, whatever, we'll talk later, test subjects!"

And with that, it goes silent...

I'd be better without the boniest kid on Earth on me.

[her tone is grouchy as ever, but she's practically gentle when she prods him in the side]

...You okay? It's a longer trip than it looks. [punning. what better show of friendship]
puzzlinglad: (9)

it's only up from here, really

[personal profile] puzzlinglad 2015-04-17 09:28 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, sorry- [gonna hastily also move to the side, trying to check her over to make sure she didn't have like an obvious broken bone from falling in a pit. or a concussion, or something.] - not that bony. [because that's important to focus on.]

[and he nods, sighing. puns, suffering.]
You've really hit rock bottom with those. [dear god.] I'm alright, I guess I wasn't paying attention... be careful in the library, the books have a mind of their own. [and a pause as he looks around.] Where on earth is this supposed to be anyway?

some people are happy to have such holy experiences

The boniest. And I didn't expect such language from you, Hershel. Are you sure you're alright?

[her clothes are kind of bloody (like, doused) but there are no bones in locations they oughtn't and she doesn't actually look hurt; she is busy checking him over for the same reasons, actually laying a hand on his forehead, is a pun concealing head injuries or worse]

Apparently the floors here aren't up to code, though honestly this seems more like a tiger trap. But it's quiet, so I figured why not hang out for a while. It's important to sit back and relax sometimes, you know. [also, the sides are a liiittle too high for her to reach, so]

i already give up, spare me, show mercy, some hole related pun...

There's a saying about what to do when you can't beat them- Ema. [wait. a minute. just. take a break. wait.] Is... that blood?

[full fret mode is a go.] What on earth happened? Please tell me it was some nasty trick... [he was sort of hoping ema wasn't so broken from rolling around in someone's blood puddle that she was acting normal. surely everything was actually fine just blood sometimes????]

[maybe he should focus.]
Oh, well... I suppose you have a point. I feel like all I've been doing since I woke up is running. [he glances up] Though I'm a little worried about what will happen if something finds us in here.

Nasty isn't the half of it. [she scowls, expression equal parts nauseated and annoyed] Just--if you have to go to the bathroom, which I heartily recommend against, pee in the sink.

And if something finds us...take a picture of it? It's probably not going to come down here unless it really wants to get stuck in a hole. Logically, it should wait for us to come out to strike.

Noted. [he kind of wished he had something to offer, like one of those towelettes for cleaning your hands. poor ema.] So far the library and the washroom are on my list of things to avoid wholeheartedly then.

I suppose that's a good point, it'd just get stuck down here with us otherwise. [if they're even smart enough to care about that. he leans against one of the walls with a sigh] I wonder how far Zero programs these things to go. People rarely seem to get very hurt during these sorts of things, not that it's something I'd want to test.
