vivarium | CALHOUN HOUR

Yet another day, yet another Calhoun Hour where characters find themselves waking up in a new and unfamiliar area. The first thing characters will notice that it's dusty and dark. With almost no lighting whatsoever, characters will be unable to see anything in front of them. Are they with someone else or did they wake up alone? That's something they will have to figure out after Calhoun's announcement.

"Ahem, ahem. Testing, one two three, testing. Well, gooooood evening, test subjects! Yes, you have really been knocked out for that long, but it only fits the mood of today's game."

He snickers then continues.

"How many of you like the horror genre? I bet half of you do, but I hate it! Cheap and cheesy effects with lame jump scares, and what is this, The Human Centipede? "100% medically accurate"? Just ugh, that's not even horror. That's just an insult to science and medicine."

"Anyway, I thought I'd put my own twist to trying out this horror business, so welcome to my little haunted school! Now, all of you should find yourselves a nice little camera and pocket flashlight. I want you all to do me a little favour and take a nice photo of at least five different of my best friends down there. I'm not asking for breathtaking photos, but at least put some effort into it, test subjects. Do that and, you know what, I'm feeling generous, I'll give you whatever you want in the shop and I guess a memory or something, whatever, we'll talk later, test subjects!"

And with that, it goes silent...

[ and the camera is good thinking, hershel, because it does daze the reaper for a few seconds. it takes a step back, one hand up to its single eye (though it's surprisingly quiet for just being blinded). unfortunately for everyone, jake doesn't take this chance to steal that gun because he's responsible for getting hershel out of this mess, ughhhh, friendship. he stands up and rams into the reaper with his shoulder, causing it to stagger back, giving the two of them enough room to get the fuck out of the library. he'll trust hershel to follow behind to idk one of the classrooms this is a lazy tag i'm not sorry sue me or something ]

[because jake's always made reasonable decisions his entire life and should be trusted at every turn.]

Usually not when I'm suggesting we don't do something dangerous! [that's actually a huge lie, randall prob tells him that 20 times a day. he'd be all for the mugging ghosts plan.]

[oh, that worked, like the genius he is hershel was a little surprised by that, but thankfully jake's actually going to do something about it and ram the thing. he follows immediately out into the hall, trying to ignore the angry rattle of chains.]

[in the new classroom everything is probably fine besides the sledgehammer wielding lady hershel at least didn't notice yet. do you think i was lying about this being the dumbest bullshit ever.] I think we lost it for now... Are you okay?

[ of course. i mean, just name me at least three bad decisions he made in his life thus far. you can't do it ]

[ and you know what, it says something when jake and randall will get along when it comes to mugging ghosts. this will literally be the only moment they'll cooperate. also i'm so glad this is a thing, dumbest bullshit thread ever, truly remarkable. jake enters while keeping his eye outside of the classroom, to make sure that they're not being followed for now. ]

Yeah, but I should be asking y-- [ aaaaand then he turns around to see the dokebi that has her sledgehammer high and ready to turn hershel into a ham sandwich (actually, more like a chicken sandwich because that's what he is, just a little chicken). jake grabs onto hershel's arm to forcefully pull him out of the way and towards him, even if it means that it's way more rough than intended like if hershel slams against the wall, that's not his problem ]

[actually let me add agreeing with randall about anything on that list, that's there too. also wow the chicken comment is uncalled for, excuse me, but hey, at least jake gets to do his i'm going to protect sherry by grabbing her by the arm a lot thing so i mean, life's pretty good. hershel barely processes all that, first he turns and there's zero? with a sledgehammer? only it wasn't zero and then he was crashing into a wall because jake, he assumes.]

[what a day] What- [that's about as far as he gets before the loud, probably angry breathing of their friend sledgehammer zero reaches an all time high as she tries to ram jake with the handle of her sledgehammer. how dare you get in her way. she wanted a chicken sandwich.] Jake!

[enjoy this, okay, because his overwhelming concern for jake and the lack of time he has to react leads him to basically dash forward and headbutt her. in the gut. wow what a thread. at least that probably stops her from raising her hammer to try and smash jake's skull in if her previous strike was successful at all. DOES THIS TAG MAKE ANY SENSE.]

[i'm glad that he only didn't kill another person because sherry would be mad. perfect priorities, i'll give him that.]

[yeah this is a pretty special time for everyone, and hershel's a little dazed because he didn't regularly headbutt zeroes to save jakes all that often. he's learning from the best, probably.] R-right.

[at least he was clearheaded when he got to the hallway, clearheaded enough to recognize they were completely fucked. this is good, this is how he wanted his life to end, with a sledgehammer to the face or choked to death by chains next to his best friend, Jake. He stutters a moment before fumbling for his camera.]

I'll try to stun the sledgehammer one when she comes out, we need to make a run past her when- [narrowly avoiding getting punched with a chain. this is GOOD. he wasn't sure if the flash would work on it again but fuck, he's gonna try. he takes the picture of reaper-sama - maybe jake can now live his dream of mugging a ghost.]
