Since the second group's first Calhoun Hour, the mouse in question hasn't appeared in the warehouse for longer than 30 minutes at a time. He only arrives during the early mornings to tape a random fruit of the day (apples, oranges, and pears so far) before scurrying off with his wagon. He refuses to provide any sort of medical relief for any of the test subjects, and does nothing more but providing the bare minimum to survive. So, when Day 9 rolls around, three days since that faithful finger breaking/eye blinding experience, it's no different; Calhoun comes in, tapes up some bananas, then promptly leaves afterwards, all without a word.

An hour after he leaves, though... The screen in the Greenhouse, up against the wall besides the entrance, finally comes to life for the first time. It flickers on and on, flashing brightly. At first, there's nothing but static. Soon enough, though, it stays a consistent green tint. A blinking cursor hovers at the bottom and stays there for a few seconds, before it begins to type.

COME TO THE LOBBY AND GO THROUGH THE NEWLY OPENED DOOR

[ Sorry to interrupt, but Ellie opening those top drawers first was a Bad Idea. Luckily, there doesn't seem to be anything of importance (at least nothing hinting at a password), but seconds after opening the drawers, the entire cabinet falls over from the sheer weight, dangerously and quite possibly squashing anyone standing in front of it. ]

[Rio gives a small squeak of terror and skitters back. SORRY ELLIE YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN HERE.]

Whoa--!!

[ THANKS A LOT, RIO but at least Ellie has decently fast reflexes so she jumps back with a small yelp. The cabinet comes crashing down with a loud clanging sound and Ellie puts up a hand to her chest, letting out a small sigh. ]

Oh man, that was close... Are you okay?

I-I'm okay... But what about you? It didn't hit you?

[AT LEAST SHE'S CONCERNED(?) ABOUT YOU.]

[ IS IT REAL CONCERN THOUGH, IS IT ]

Nah, but it just barely did. Jeez... okay, we gotta be careful in here.

[What Ellie doesn't know won't hurt her.]

M-maybe next time we should start from the bottom...

[-? Is that Atsuro calling them over?]

[ She's going to find out eventually though...... eventually. ]

Maybe we should just keep it on the ground. Then at least it wouldn't be such a danger.

[ Yes, that is indeed Atsuro calling them over, but let her check out the metal desk first (she's totally going to ignore the cabinet for now...). ]

[ While this desk is far neater than the old wooden one's, there doesn't seem to be any sort of notes of importance. There are books on how to perform emergency first aid and an employee's manual, there are no hints as to a password or anything of major importance. ]

[Rio scurries behind Ellie, only leaving her side somewhat because hey, chair! She sits on it on her knees, causing it to spin a bit with her on it. Oops.]

Is there-- [Ah, she has to turn to make up for the spinning if she wants to keep looking at Ellie as she speaks!] --is there anything there?

[ She grabs the first aid book. She's definitely going to steal that and holds it up. ]

Nope, just junk, but I got this little gem--

[ And then turns around to see Rio having a little spinning party. ]

[She just smiles another one of those adorably sweet smiles.]

Eheheh... It feels like it's been a long time since I got to sit in one of these!

[Priorities, Rio. They're trying to escape.]

Man, these would be great to have races down a hallway or something. We should grab this one and the other chair and totally steal them after we leave.

[ granted, probably not since it'd be a pain to take those, but hey, she can dream ]

[That gives her a pause.]

...You think we could do that...?

*Maria had been watching the two of them knock stuff over, but the thought of having chairs wasn't a bad idea.*

Do you see a sign that says we can't? Let's take as much stuff as we can.

But... wouldn't it get in the way? It's a little-- [Oops, still spinning. Give her a second to turn again.] --Um. Cumbersome?

Well, think about it. Having chairs would be useful where we're staying. We can use them to transport things and if someone's hurt, they could use it like a sort of wheel chair. *And throw it at someone if you're angry enough. Maria certainly could if pressed.*

[Um...]

But... we're trying to leave, aren't we?

If this will actually work. *Even though she wanted to leave just as badly as anything else, would it be just as easy as they'd been lead to expect?*

Eh... Y-you mean, even after all this, we might not get out...?

[GREAT, NOW SHE LOOKS LIKE SHE'S ABOUT TO CRY.]

*Aw crap. See, this is why she's not good with kids!* I'm just trying to play devil's advocate! Maybe you're right and we'll get out. I'd still like to take a chair just because.

[She looks unconvinced... but she does finally nod and get off of the chair.]
