T H E  W A R E H O U S E 【 day 10 】 To all the newcomers, welcome to the 【 Warehouse 】. Once you escape your elevator, you will find yourselves here. It's strangely empty for a warehouse. Aside from the elevators you've come out of, there's nothing else here. In fact, the longer you look around, the stranger everything looks. Every window has been bolted shut, with no way of removing the steel coverings. The only source of illumination comes from the florescent lights above. Along the walls are numerous amounts of surveillance cameras, watching every bit of movement and listening to the sounds of everyone and everything. Every door is locked up tight, with no clear way of opening them, and there's one giant door with a 9 painted on it. It's a rather strange place, and there seems to be a lot of people here, so go introduce yourselves? As for the "old timers", they will find that their bracelets will not display any colour or status (SOLO or PAIR). The BP will be a simple grey colour, and there will be nothing underneath it. Wonder what they means. Before anyone can ask Calhoun, he will be screeching in your ear about something else, asking everyone to gather in the warehouse. Standing on a table (in an attempt to be at the same height as a few of you), he says that there's a special surprise for everyone. So, gather around, test subjects, and listen closely because he's not going to say it again. 【 day 11 】 Everyone might wake up today to the loud sound of... sirens? What on Earth can make a sound like that? Well, if they get up and look, they'll see Calhoun with... one of these, and him attempting to put Kotetsu on the stretcher. Due to being a 3'2" sized mouse, he's clearly struggling but he's at least determined to put him on it. ANNOUNCEMENT ✖ NEW ARRIVALS ✖ GOODBYE ✖ NEW ARRIVAL

Heiji ran faster when he heard Clive start to yell. He didn't have to wonder about why for long, though, because that was definitely Kotetsu's body lying prone halfway on that stretcher.

Instead of hassling Calhoun (for once), he went straight over to Kotetsu and put two fingers to the side of his neck, feeling for a pulse. "Hey, old man! Can ya hear me?"

[ Heiji will certainly find a pulse, but Kotetsu doesn't react to being yelled at. Actually, he looks like he's suffering from some kind of fever. ]

[ Calhoun will struggle, waving his arms around. ]

I didn't do anything to him! I have to quarantine him before the rest of you get sick!

[puzzlinglad]

[Hershel's just going to stick by the back, looking extremely uneasy about all of this. He spares Clive a glance before Calhoun's comment finally makes him speak up.]

He's sick? Is he going to be alright? [He wanted to believe Calhoun would actually try to help but it was Calhoun...]

[formicarium]

Of course he's sick! He'll be okay if you hurry up and let me go so I can take him somewhere.

[ Still struggling against Clive's grip. ]

[Nope, sorry, Clive's not ready to let go of Calhoun just yet. He glances over at Heiji since he already touched Kotetsu's body.]

...Is it true, Heiji? Is he sick?

[detectiveofthewest]

Heiji was silent for a moment or two, then slowly backed off a step. "He's alive, all right, but he's burnin' up. Hey, Clive -- I know you're worried about him, but you know we ain't got any medical supplies. I don't think we have a choice here."

Apparently hell had frozen over, because he was actually backing Calhoun up on this one.

[His grip on Calhoun tightens for a moment out of frustration. Why? Why did this have to happen to Kotetsu of all people? Other than Aoi, Clive considers him to be his closest friend here. What if he never comes back...?

Heiji's right, though. They don't really have any other choice but to rely on Calhoun, even though Clive doesn't trust him to take very good care of Kotetsu at all. After letting out a sigh of defeat, he finally releases his grip and just lets his arms hang limply at his sides.]

[formicarium]

Finally!

[ Running back over to Kotetsu, trying to finish rolling his body to the stretcher. ]

Why would I even want to do this to him? Do you know how annoying it is to replace each test subject? As if my job isn't hard enough.

[ Grumbling. ]

[detectiveofthewest]

Heiji walked a couple of steps over to where Calhoun was. "Hey. You mentioned quarantine just now, didn't ya? You must know what laid him out. So what is it? The flu? And how'd he get it?"

[formicarium]

[ Still rolling, and clearly not in a very good mood. ]

How should I know? I'll find out after I take him off, but the rest of you better stay away or you'll be just like him.

[puzzlinglad]

When he gets better, will you bring him back? [There probably should have been an if there but hope springs eternal, ok.] If he's out too long it will be hard for him to catch up with points...

[formicarium]

Probably, but who knows how long that will take. It depends on how sick he is!

[amphibian]

HEY! [SORRY GUYS, KINDA LATE TO THE PARTY

It takes entirely too much effort not to just punt Calhoun away when she speeds over from down the hall. Instead, she comes to a short, scrambling stop by the others.]

Wh-what's going on?! Why is— I-is he..? [Unaware that she missed all the freak-outs, she thinks everyone needs to be freaking out a lot more about this situation.]

[vengefulyears]

[It's okay, Aoi, Clive is just as upset about this as you are. He looks up at her with a grave expression.]

Kotetsu is sick. Calhoun is going to quarantine and treat him.

[Though his tone suggests that he really doesn't approve of this at all.]

[detectiveofthewest]

Heiji actually got over to one side and helped fit Kotetsu onto the stretcher, if only because he didn't want to guy to get dragged all over the floor while they were taking him to wherever the treatment room was.

"You get better and come back soon," he said, patting Kotetsu on the forehead. "Or better yet, get outta here and escape if ya can."

[blind_badass]

He doesn't say a whole lot, just listening to the conversation and to Kotetsu being rolled away. "Heiji. We need to figure out how he got sick so we can prevent that from happening to anyone else."

[formicarium]

[ Wow, the mean test subject actually helped, that's good! Calhoun doesn't say anything, though, just pushing a button to have the stretcher raised up. ]

[ Calhoun then gets into the seat of his... well, his scooter (with the siren still ringing), and drives off into the hallway. ]

Be good while I'm gone, test subjects!

[ Um... discuss? ]

"That's a little easier said than done," said Heiji, frowning.

"Well, I guess we could start with the obvious. Anyone noticed Kotetsu feeling under the weather lately? Maybe we could use that to figure out when his symptoms started, and work back from there."

[amphibian]

[Aoi starts forward with a sharp half-step as the stretcher wheels away—but when no one else moves, it occurs to her that there's nothing she can really do, and she slumps.]

...Nuh-uh. In all three puzzle rooms, I didn't notice anything off at all...

So you were the one closest to him, Aoi? *He hadn't really had a lot of conversations with the man, only that it seemed he was older and perhaps stronger. That was all the impression he'd received.*

[amphibian]

Well...we were on the same teams for all the puzzle rooms, 'scept the elevator. [She sniffles, then sighs.] So I guess I was around him the most, and he seemed okay. Maybe I wasn't paying enough attention...

[detectiveofthewest]

"H-hey," said Heiji, looking a little alarmed. "It's not your fault or anything. If you didn't notice anything, and I know I didn't -- well, it must be a disease with a pretty sudden onset is all. That don't really tell us how he contracted it, though."

He frowned at Aoi. "So let's get this straight. He started off in the elevator with Clive. Then he was with you and Clive on the Red team, and you and me on the Green team. We've all been in pretty close quarters, but you, Clive, and I should all be extra careful about monitoring for symptoms."

[amphibian]

Ema, too. We were all on the blue team together. I'll let her know, too, when I see her. [She takes a step away from the group—she'll go find Ema in a bit, but right now she just kind of wants to go sulk.]
