welcome our new test subjects and say goodbye to old ones...
![]() 【 day 10 】 To all the newcomers, welcome to the 【 Warehouse 】. Once you escape your elevator, you will find yourselves here. It's strangely empty for a warehouse. Aside from the elevators you've come out of, there's nothing else here. In fact, the longer you look around, the stranger everything looks. Every window has been bolted shut, with no way of removing the steel coverings. The only source of illumination comes from the florescent lights above. Along the walls are numerous amounts of surveillance cameras, watching every bit of movement and listening to the sounds of everyone and everything. Every door is locked up tight, with no clear way of opening them, and there's one giant door with a 9 painted on it. It's a rather strange place, and there seems to be a lot of people here, so go introduce yourselves? As for the "old timers", they will find that their bracelets will not display any colour or status (SOLO or PAIR). The BP will be a simple grey colour, and there will be nothing underneath it. Wonder what they means. Before anyone can ask Calhoun, he will be screeching in your ear about something else, asking everyone to gather in the warehouse. Standing on a table (in an attempt to be at the same height as a few of you), he says that there's a special surprise for everyone. So, gather around, test subjects, and listen closely because he's not going to say it again. 【 day 11 】 Everyone might wake up today to the loud sound of... sirens? What on Earth can make a sound like that? Well, if they get up and look, they'll see Calhoun with... one of these, and him attempting to put Kotetsu on the stretcher. Due to being a 3'2" sized mouse, he's clearly struggling but he's at least determined to put him on it. |

[Oh dear. 63 has never before seemed like such a large number. But there's mentioning of being allies and she is all for that.]
Then we just need to last, right? [Seems simple enough.] I'm sure we can do it with all our friends helping!
[Everything the light touches is Colette's friend - that includes you, Hershel.]
no subject
[He's a little surprised at how quickly she was willing to seemingly trust everyone, it makes him smile even if it also makes him concerned. Hershel was all for friendship but not everyone was, and he makes a bit of a mental note to try and keep an eye out for Colette, just in case. He hoped no one would try and take advantage of her good nature but... well, murder games. The didn't bring out the best in people.]
I certainly hope so, Calhoun never said this game needed a loser, after all. [He smiles.] Have you met anyone else around here yet? There's quite a few of us, now.
no subject
[It's her own fault for delving into self-pity. Now that she's emotionally distanced herself from the incident in the elevator, it's clear enough to cut. There are people here, most of whom have been trapped longer than her. It wouldn't do to lose face in front of them, acting aloof in her corner.
So she won't. She'll weather this, and help out. She can do that, right?]
Hershel, if it's okay, can you show me around? [Her smile is back in place, and looks to stay there for a long while.]
no subject
[And he smiles sincerely.] I'd be more than happy to, Colette. Moving around might be a good idea, it'll help you dry off.
This is the warehouse, it's the biggest room so far. Over there, those three colored doors? They go to the puzzle rooms. I can't say much about them, it's against the rules to talk about them with anyone who hasn't been through them before. Over here leads to the lounge- [And he gestures for her to go ahead towards a certain door because ladies first, English polite over here.]
no subject
Oh! Is there any food in the lounge? [N-not that she's hungry... well okay, being frightened to near-death really works up the appetite, and she hasn't received her bag of provisions from Calhoun quite yet.
It's a decent distraction from asking Hershel about the puzzle rooms, in any case. The last thing she wants to do is get him in trouble.]
no subject
Well... there is a cafeteria but you need nine BP to get into it. Most of us hit nine BP and more last round- don't worry though, Calhoun gave us canned food to help tide us over until then, I'm sure he'll do the same. If not... [Well, maybe they could sneak some food out. He didn't want to say that outloud where Calhoun could possibly hear so he just offers a smile.] ... we'll figure something out.
[Ah, and here's the lounge, in all it's uncomfortable couch and bad game glory.] Here it is- it's... well, it's better than the warehouse.
no subject
Oh, don't worry! That just means I need to catch up with you guys, right? [Until then, she'll keep her hunger pains in check... somehow! No use fussing about it until the bridge needs to be crossed.
And even for Colette, the lounge isn't exactly impressive. But oh, that couch. Something soft to sit on? Her legs still feel like jello, even as she refrains from moving toward it. The tour isn't over.]
Mm, I'm glad they gave us something. [She tilts her head back, until her gaze drags up the walls and to the ceiling, taking everything in - not that there's much to see - before glancing back to Hershel. Asking a little shyly, as she doesn't want to seem ungrateful:] Um, does this mean we take turns sleeping on the floor?
no subject
You're a very optimistic person, Colette, even in the face of all this. Still, you're right, everyone's been reasonable so far, I doubt you'll have much trouble making it to nine. [If she was paired off or against Jake that was. a thing but Hershel was hoping Jake was learning the power of friendship and all that jazz now.]
[And he pauses a moment, realizing she thinks people slept on the couch. Oh, poor girl.] Mostly everyone sleeps in the warehouse, the couch is- well, take a seat, it's probably something you should see for yourself. [Enjoy comfort you like never dreamed, Colette.]
no subject
[Also, Hershel, now Colette half-expects the couch to implode upon impact. She sets a curious stare at it before walking over, and veeeeeeery gently sitting herself on one of the cushions]
no subject
[How does it feel to sit on the most uncomfortable couch known to man Colette?? Aren't you thrilled?? He gives her a bemused look.] The floor's more comfortable in a lot of ways, though it is colder.

I think... when we do get our memories back, who we are on the inside won't change. [Maybe they'll react differently, see things differently, try to force certain emotions away, but...]
This is us at our most... us-ness!
no subject
[He considers what she said, apparently finding it a good thing and smiling.] I hope so. It's a little frightening to think we may be nothing like who we are with memories, right now.
Oh, so there's the bad games over here, and the bad movies over here- [He gestures.] There's also a lot of books, usually science ones. It's not very entertaining as a whole, but sometimes the bad games and movies can be fun with just how atrocious they are.
no subject
[H-ahaha, science books. Colette does not need memories to suspect all of it will go straight over of her head. Though after a moment, she glances at Hershel, a question in her eyes]
Is everything really that bad?
no subject
[And he hesitates. He has a feeling she means the situation in general and not just their terrible games, maybe he was reading too much into it but-] If you mean the games and such yes, they are absolutely that bad. If you mean everything-
[He pauses then sighs.] I'm not sure how to answer that. Things aren't easy, and I'm sorry to say it's going to be a very rough week for you if yours is anything like ours was. [He offers her a small smile.] But you're not alone, as cliche as that may sound. So please don't hesitate to ask for help if you need it. It's not... easy, I guess, being optimistic in all of this, trusting everyone to have your back when you need it. I hope you can keep that optimism, it's good to see.
[... and he looks awkwardly away] Ha, I'm not even sure if that's what you were asking, sorry... Please don't worry too much about it, right now I think it's best just to get your bearings.
no subject
No, it's okay. You don't need to apologize. I really appreciate you helping me like this.
[It's probably in her best interest to hear how ugly things can be. Adjusted expectations and all; nothing is ever easy.]
... Honestly? [And this part is hard, so hard to say, when she wants to turn a blind eye to something she can't change] I am still a little nervous. But I have you and everyone else here, so... I know everything will work out for the best.
no subject
Just... be careful, Colette. [Hershel was 100% ally but yeah, he knew sometimes that was a dangerous thing to be. he didn't really have the heart to try and say anything about it though, so he turned, more sheepish than before.]
The lounge is probably the most exciting place right now- I can show you where the cafeteria is but you can't go in until you have nine BP, I'm afraid. Calhoun has it as one of his rules, no going to a place you haven't unlocked yet.
