 【 day 23 】 Hello newcomers, welcome to the 【 Warehouse 】. Once you escape your elevator, you will find yourself here. It's strangely empty for a warehouse. Aside from the elevators you've come out of, there's nothing else here. In fact, the longer you look around, the stranger everything looks. Every window has been bolted shut, with no way of removing the steel coverings. The only source of illumination comes from the florescent lights above. Along the walls are numerous amounts of surveillance cameras, watching every bit of movement and listening to the sounds of everyone and everything. Every door is locked up tight, with no clear way of opening them, and there's one giant door with a 9 painted on it. It's a rather strange place, and there seems to be a lot of people here, so go introduce yourselves? For the "old-timers" and "newly-become-old-timers", come meet your new fellow test subjects. You haven't had more than one person arrive in a long while, so what a surprise! This also means that there are two elevators that you can jump into and have a nice, long, cold bath in! [Very kind and patient. Also not usually things you'd associate with a tanuki, but again, he doesn't seem to think about it that way.]
I might have doodled before, but it doesn't feel... natural? [Explaining this is weird. Having amnesia in general is weird. At any rate, he gives up on the picture, laying down the pen.]

[And he almost laughs, shaking his head and glancing at the notepad he had been playing around with.] Well, I made a poor attempt at Jake. I tried some puzzles too, though they weren't actually pictures, really, so I suppose they don't count.

There was a puzzle like this in one of the rooms, it reminded me of this one. You have to use the numbers available to make sure that every row, vertically, horizontally and diagonally has the same sum.

And he nods.] I suppose so. Heiji told me it's strange but I'm fairly certain he's the strange one here, brushing off stab wounds and the like. [sigh] I know I lived in a small, rural town near the desert, I imagine it was just something to pass the time. Do you like them?

--I'm not really sure if I do, actually. I don't think the puzzle rooms here are a very good example to go off of, so it's hard to say. [He can solve some of them alright, but whether he enjoys it or not is a whole different question.]

They were very small thankfully. [He gestured to his upper sleeve which was clearly sewn up and maybe still had faint bloodstains what he wouldn't give for a washing machine.] Heiji and Jake acted as though it was nothing strange, frankly it worries me what their lives must be like to act that way. I hope they're careful when they get out of here.
[And he considers this.] That's a good point... I'll try and see if I can come up with a fun one for you to see. Maybe something with cats.

We never activated a knife trap in our puzzle rooms. There was one close call with a stake, but no one got hit.
[Because process of elimination is definitely the way to go when you are reasonably confident you can dodge the trap, yes.]
It doesn't have to be about cats. [He might like them, but it isn't like he's obsessed with them or anything.]

Sometimes it's easier to remember puzzles when I have a topic like that. I'm not sure if it's really memory even, it's strange... I guess amnesia makes things complicated to even word sometimes.

[Save the heart attack for when he actually gets hurt doing something stupid. Though he does understand that last part a bit.]
Heiji and I probably have muscle memory, but puzzles are pretty different. I'm surprised you can remember them at all like that, but... Maybe if it isn't anything too personal, it slips by the amnesia somehow. [Assuming that's how this amnesia works anyway, since it's pretty bizarre circumstances to begin with.]
