ambidex voting #6

A M B I D E X  V O T I N G

Chop chop, everyone downstairs to the first floor! You're all done the puzzle rooms, so you know what to do. Well, most of you, but it's pretty basic, just enter any Ambidex Room you like (they're not elevators, you ignorant test subjects) then vote! How does voting work? Very simple! Pick Ally or Betray, and that's it! But with every round, there's always some prizes, depending on what you vote, so here's this rounds:

For anyone who chooses Ally, well, if your opponent chooses Ally as well, then 2BP for each of you. Then you'll also get those lovely-dovely butterfly feelings of friendship, blah blah. Well, that's it!

For anyone who chooses Betray, and gets a Betray in return, your BP doesn't change at all, but you do get two cans of food and 15 coins for each person, so that's something.

Now, here's the fun part: for anyone who chooses Betray and their opponent chooses Ally, Calhoun will be very generous with his prizes. You'll get two cans of food and a medical kit! He knows that some of you here really needs one, with how awful you are at puzzles or just plain dumb, so he'll give one med kit full of things that you need! If you're a SOLO, you get one for yourself. If you're a PAIR, well, you'll have to share one, but at least this is better than nothing. Also, as usual, those who pick Betray get 3BP instead of just 2.

But if you're the poor sap that chose Ally and got stabbed in the back, well, sorry, you lose 2 BP. At least you got stabbed for the greater good, right? And plus, you might get a little something. He'll talk to you later about it.

But anyway, happy voting! Calhoun will see all of you later with the results.

This was ridiculous, they are spies. Hershel paused a moment before saying slowly and quietly. "What if we talked about a puzzle room the other hadn't been in. They couldn't ignore that, could they? But that might be a bit dangerous..." Was that even an unspoken rule or a very much written one?

He sighed, smiling because yeah this was ridiculous. "Honestly no matter what we do it's going to be a risk, what a mess of 'they'll let us think this while we let them think that.'" Life was seriously a spy movie. Or Death Note.

Heiji laughed, "Yeah, that should get their attention. I got an idea for a way we can keep track of the locations where we find the cameras, too. Since we're bein' watched and all, ain't it make sense to note it down in code?"

And let's face it who better to come up with a code than these nerds.

Hershel brightened at that because yeah, code could work. You're absolutely right, if anyone could come up with a dumb, hard code it's these fools.

"That's brilliant, Heiji. We'll have to make sure it's not too obviously a code, or else Calhoun and Zero will certainly try to crack it and keep a closer eye out. We'll have to keep it hidden in the mundane."

Heiji grinned widely. "And there's one other thing -- it should be a code that we can figure out without ever talkin' about it."

That's right, Heiji wanted to develop this code without ever discussing it in words, because of course someone might be listening. Pointlessly hard challenge? MAYBE. But just the effort that went into thinking one up was almost as rewarding as the end project itself. And could it not be said that codes were basically puzzles?

That sounded so very difficult but so very fun in it's own way. Hershel smiled back because you know what, challenge 100% accepted. He already had a few ideas on how to make that happen.

"That sounds like quite the challenge." A puzzle, if you will. "But I think I can manage if you can." Strangely a little competitive again?? You bring out the worst or possible best in him, depending on who you ask.
