ambidex voting #7

A M B I D E X  V O T I N G

Chop chop, everyone downstairs to the first floor! You're all done the puzzle rooms, so you know what to do. Well, most of you, but it's pretty basic, just enter any Ambidex Room you like (they're not elevators, you ignorant test subjects) then vote! How does voting work? Very simple! Pick Ally or Betray, and that's it! But with every round, there's always some prizes, depending on what you vote, so here's this rounds:

For anyone who chooses Ally, well, if your opponent chooses Ally as well, then 2BP for each of you. You get all that friendship, blah blah, whatever.

For anyone who chooses Betray, and gets a Betray in return, your BP doesn't change at all, but you do get two cans of food and 15 coins for each person, what, you have a problem with it being the same as last time? We're busy over here, quit your bellyaching.

Now, the best part: for anyone who chooses Betray and their opponent chooses Ally, Calhoun will be very generous with his prizes, again! You'll get two cans of food and a memory! We're switching it up a bit. Also, as usual, those who pick Betray get 3BP instead of just 2.

But if you're the poor sap that chose Ally and got stabbed in the back, well, sorry, you lose 2 BP. At least you got stabbed for the greater good, right? And plus, you might get a little something. He'll talk to you later about it.

But anyway, happy voting! Calhoun will see all of you later with the results.

"I'm just glad we can split BP at least, dropping someone back down to three..." That was. not. good. "I doubt Calhoun will go lower than that, but if anyone could manage I suppose it's someone with Osaka bartering experience." Hasn't even been to Osaka and he's in awe of their innate ability.

"Kuzuryuu may seem a bit like Jake but he's really very levelheaded in the puzzle rooms. The only reason we triggered a trap was a simple mistake." Hershel lifted a hand to his throat before dropping it. "In fact he saved my life, in our room. I really owe him for that... I'm so glad you were all able to work something out."

Jake was never going to stop smashing things, but at least little Jake was chill?

Heiji scowled. Excuse you, Snake, at least he'd never gotten choked by a statue. Or blown up by a TV.

"Say what ya want, but I just splinted Simon's ankle with a trombone slide. 'Sides, don't think I ain't seen all those people sitting on the new couch."

I wish someone here had medical knowledge. [He sighed and verrrrry carefully wrapped Snake's hand back up.] Especially now that there's access to the BP medical supplies.
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: cap pulled down)

"Yeah. They were both out like lights, I'm sure. I asked Clive about it a little in the cafeteria. Didn't press him on it too hard. But if he did do it, then he lied to me like it was nothing." Heiji put a hand to his forehead, running his fingers through his bangs before readjusting his cap.

"I hope he does say somethin' to you. I want to believe that's what he'd do."
blind_badass: (well crap)

[personal profile] blind_badass 2014-09-29 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't say it was -bad- you stole things, just that you did. And...did you use a musical instrument as a splint? *The instrument! What did it ever do to you, Heiji?*
blind_badass: (you do not learn)

[personal profile] blind_badass 2014-09-29 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
Wait, what was that last part? *Don't pretend that you didn't say anything Hershel, Snake's got better hearing than you do!*
blind_badass: (well crap)

[personal profile] blind_badass 2014-09-29 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
If he did do it...I think it was out of sheer desperation. Which I believe I can understand. *He still thinks about the girl/woman who conversed with him in a way that showed she knew him so well. Who was she?*
detectiveofthewest: (suit hmm)

[personal profile] detectiveofthewest 2014-09-29 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
"Hardly even stealin'," said Heiji under his breath, probably because he felt just a little bit bad about it even though what Zero and Calhoun had done to them was way worse.

"Part of one, yeah. Didn't think we had any trombone players around. Maybe I could use the other parts for somethin'. Mostly I just wanted the case, though."
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: !)

[personal profile] detectiveofthewest 2014-09-29 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
Come to Osaka, Hershel, the land of puns and two-man comedy routines! Also baseball. "Yeah, same here. Didn't think he'd agree to that one, that's for sure."

He blinked. "Wait a sec, he saved your life? What happened?"

[roundhouse kicks would be awesome]

[anyway, gonna grab some of this "healthy" "stew" apparently on offer today and then sit down to take drugs, gonna be sweet (Hershel's idea, gosh work on your mind-reading skills kid)]

Don't lump me with him. I listen.

And killing old shop owners. "I wonder how annoyed he'd be if everyone gave up a little BP to help someone else one day." Annoying Calhoun was a way of life. "Ah well, I guess he'd just be happy to lower all our BP."

"Well, it was the statue with the sheet on it. We went to try and take it off for bandaging but it grabbed me by the throat." He explained with a small frown. "It... wasn't looking good, but Kuzuryuu was quick and used the iron spike to break the statue's arm off before- well, if he hadn't I don't think my neck could have taken much more of that."

"It was after he was stabbed too, for such an angry person he can be very levelheaded and collected when the situation calls for it." He mused.

[Which he will gladly do because even if the gruel is gross, food is food man.]

There are some empty seats here.

[So Snake can tell where he's seating himself. He eats maybe two or three bites before he pauses, though it's hard to say if it's because of the flavor or some other reason.]

[personal profile] puzzlinglad 2014-09-29 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
[Look he's had a long day of dealing with the two most stubborn people in the world, it drains his psychic abilities. he's not all that hungry for this super delicious gruel and he doesn't have to take pills haha nerds, so he'll just grab a cup of water, thanks.]

Maybe a little more, I'll admit. [he brow raises.] Though I still had to debate getting much needed medical supplies with you for longer than a less stubborn person would have.
not_that_sasuke: ([Think] is also my friend.)

[personal profile] not_that_sasuke 2014-09-29 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
Memories...

[...So this might just be his first opportunity to get one of those. Coins might be nice too, if only so he could finally get stuff from the store.]

Just what's inside the grey door, anyway?
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: I got a bad feeling)

[personal profile] detectiveofthewest 2014-09-29 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
Heiji still looked unhappy, but nodded anyway. "Sure, I know."

Only he didn't, not really. In his third memory, he'd felt that desperation -- watched the look in that girl's eyes as she started to fall. But even then, it was something that had happened in the past. Immutable...

(Which was to say that he just sort of gave the impression like he was standing around for a bit, being uncharacteristically quiet.)

[personal profile] puzzlinglad 2014-09-29 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, I suppose it would be your first if you got one back, wouldn't it? [You can do it Sasuke, it probably won't be a depressing one either...]

He called it the Morality room, I'm not sure how much I should say but it wasn't like any of the puzzle rooms I've seen here. Mostly it was just questions. [And explosions if you hang out with Jake.] He said he wanted to understand us better when I asked.
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: I was sweatin' bullets)

[personal profile] detectiveofthewest 2014-09-29 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
Heiji grinned. "Well now, that really would be somethin'. And if it'd annoy that rat, that's good enough for me."

"The..." Excuse Heiji while he facepalmed. What was with all you people and your statue-peeping, how gross. "Seriously? That was the same thing Ema did."

"...It's good to hear that he's cool under fire, though. Ya really lucked out there."
puzzlinglad: (4)

[personal profile] puzzlinglad 2014-09-29 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
Hershel smiled back a bit. "It'd be for a good cause in more ways than one, that's for certain."

They needed the sheet! Ema's just a thug! Hershel looked startled though. "That thing grabbed Ema? Was she- I guess she was alright." He calmed down a bit though still pretty upset. "I can't believe it, she's injured and still things like this keep happening to her. I wish she'd be more careful."

Right, Kuzuryuu. He nodded. "He gets angry very easily but I still think he's a reasonable sort. In a way I was almost expecting him to be like Jake. I'm glad he isn't, at least not so much like him that he gets himself into trouble the way Jake does."
not_that_sasuke: ([Unsure] legs in that town)

[personal profile] not_that_sasuke 2014-09-29 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that's right.

[He's... cautiously hopeful? He wouldn't put it past Calhoun to give him something totally useless in terms of memories, but if he can finally learn something solid about himself...]

...Questions? Are they supposed to make us distrust each other?

[Forgive his knee jerk reaction to Calhoun apparently developing an interest in his test subjects.]
puzzlinglad: (37)

[personal profile] puzzlinglad 2014-09-29 06:15 am (UTC)(link)
I hope it's a pleasant memory when you get it, or at least a useful one. [Knowing Calhoun anything was possible. He's sad for a moment because remembering the fact Akiko only got half of an awful memory back before biting it. Calhoun sucked so bad.

Anyway, sadsacking is for later, puzzle room gossip is now.]

I don't think that was his aim, though maybe it was. Jake and I had pretty different opinions on the questions but it never got heated... maybe it would in some cases. [He frowns.] If anything they were just progressively more unpleasant to think about.
detectiveofthewest: (Default)

[personal profile] detectiveofthewest 2014-09-29 06:15 am (UTC)(link)
"She ain't the only one." JAKE.

"It's kinda like you said. Kuzuryuu, I mean. Seems like a pretty stand-up guy, but I bet if we were back home, his folks would wash his mouth out with soap." Not that Heiji was above the occasional bout of swearing, but Kuzuryuu seemed especially fond of it.
puzzlinglad: (9)

[personal profile] puzzlinglad 2014-09-29 06:26 am (UTC)(link)
Have the deepest, most tired sigh. Yup. Yuuuup. "You should have seen the pair of them when we were trying to clean up, stubbornly trying to fuss the other into taking care of themselves first. It would have been sweet if they weren't both so pigheaded." Might as well gossip, it's the best regardless of situations.

And Hershel looked vaguely amused at that. "I told him he was being crass with his language and he- well, let's say he didn't try and tone it down. I wonder who he really is, his clothes are rather elaborate and well made yet he curses like a sailor." Weirdest fancy rich kid ever?
puzzlinglad: (42)

[personal profile] puzzlinglad 2014-09-29 06:31 am (UTC)(link)
[no way out, buddy. no way out.

Hershel is both very glad for that because at least someone got through. He's also still miffed at Calhoun for throwing knives at his group for a very simple mistake. Calhoun sucks.]
Oh, I meant to ask, is Mr. Wilder ill? I thought I saw him being pulled around earlier.

[Surely nothing suspicious happened there, people coma'd all the time right??? Right. Totally.]

It... was complicated. [Just keep using that vague word, it's a good explanation.] At least Ema was able to get medical supplies this round, I'm worried about Jake though. He's a stubborn prat, he'd probably let himself bleed out on the couch before asking for a spare bandage. [Sigh.]
not_that_sasuke: ([Think] is also my friend.)

[personal profile] not_that_sasuke 2014-09-29 07:11 am (UTC)(link)
[...? Did he bring up something bad?]

...Either way, questions about morality in a game like this could be tricky. [The entire AB game's set up is a challenge of morals.] Does he have any way to tell if you're lying?

...

[she looks away, as if properly cowed, then looks less away, as if less cowed]

...Less long than a more stubborn person would have, though.
