ambidex voting #17

A M B I D E X  V O T I N G

Once everyone exits their respective rooms, Zero's voice will be heard over the speakers:

"Proceed into the Ambidex Rooms and cast your vote. You will be given 45 minutes to decide."

And with that, the elevator doors open and the PA system turns itself off. It seems as if there are no rewards or any of that nonsense this time around...

Dying an Akiko death.

Heiji, for a detective, you were real shit at taking a hint... But Jake looked up at him with slight curiosity. "Where'd you hear that from?"
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: hee.)

He laughed and waved a hand. "Nah, it's nothin' like you're thinking. Back when we were collecting those parts, me and Hershel made a couple of alterations. You know how Hershel's pretty good at sewing? So we gave him angry eyebrows and little heart pawpads."

Eat shit, Calhoun.

He gave out a loud 'ha!' before he looked back to his stuff to finally start putting some things away in his bag.

"Desecrating the dead? Thought you and Hersh were too much of a goodie-two-shoes bunch to do anything as daring as that." Yeah, Jake was calling Hershel by Hersh now. Not all the time, just sometimes. Friendship........
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: there there)

[personal profile] detectiveofthewest 2015-03-28 04:02 pm (UTC)(link)
"What? I totally exploded a robot this round!" How could you besmirch his good name, Jake??? Although that part about being a goodie-two shoes was basically true, stop trying to murder Zero, Clive...

"Anyway, Calhoun should be thankin' us. I think we gave him some real character."
fairsfair: ((*`へ´*))

[personal profile] fairsfair 2015-03-28 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
"And don't you sound proud of it." Everyone exploded a robot or two by now. Jeez, Heiji, it wasn't something to be super cocky about. Even Hershel could do it.

"Yeah, I'm sure whenever he rises from the dead, he'll reward you in Soporil." Haha, have fun getting drugged.
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: hehe)

[personal profile] detectiveofthewest 2015-03-29 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, it did take a bit of doing... plus, no one got hurt by the shrapnel! So yeah, I'm pretty happy about that one." Don't be shady, be a lady!

"Guess it's better than not bein' able to sleep for a week. I was gettin' seriously worried about Hershel for a little there. I'll just need to get someone to catch me."

"Lucky you. If they open up the Surveillance Room again, then I'll make sure to give that room a watch over." Haha, shrapnel... Jake had no idea what it was like to be hit with that, hahahaha.

"His punishment finished around the same time as yours, right? Three days in." Or something like that. He wasn't keeping track that much, to be honest.
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: urk)

[personal profile] detectiveofthewest 2015-03-29 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah. It got lessened 'cause of the others." Don't you wish your punishment had been lessened too, Jake, or maybe you didn't because you'd rather be punished.

That was a weird thought......

"Oh yeah, um... I wanted to thank you, too. For helpin' Snake out."
fairsfair: ((¬︿¬))

[personal profile] fairsfair 2015-03-29 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
Jake looked up at him for a second, then back down. Getting thanked wasn't exactly something he got a lot.

"It wasn't like I had much of a choice. Figured a few of you would complain if I left him in there to roast."
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: !)

"D..." Heiji looked oddly thrown for a second. "Don't just shake me off, I'm serious!"

With the way Jake's vision wasn't recovered even now, and the way they'd looked when they came out of the room, they'd fallen into the water. And Snake couldn't swim with only one arm, which meant that Jake had had to support him.
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: what're ya doin?)

It must have been tough going. Moreso than carrying Alfendi for a little bit while he was comatose.

Heiji lowered his voice a little, realizing he was being weirdly intense. "I'm serious, so... thanks."
fairsfair: (( ・◇・)?)

[personal profile] fairsfair 2015-03-29 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, Heiji was being weirdly intense because Jake didn't expect that response.

"... You're welcome, I guess." How was he suppose to respond to that? He didn't say this often and he was hardly put into these situations so uhhh. "Didn't think it was that important to you."
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: guess I'll be a srs detective)

[personal profile] detectiveofthewest 2015-03-30 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
"W-well, it is." Good thing Jake couldn't see 100% anyway, because Heiji was having a bit of a rough time making eye contact. He sort of started off looking at Jake, then looked away.

"So... if there's anything I can do to help ya out, let me know."
fairsfair: ((‘A`))

[personal profile] fairsfair 2015-04-01 03:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Jake stayed quiet for a second or two, as if he was deeply thinking of what Heiji said. Maybe he was even considering how Heiji might be another friend. Maybe he was deciding that this was how friendship worked and how life was suppose to be. Maybe he finally understood.

"For starters, you can do me a favour and put these in my locker in the gym, then."

... Or maybe he was just taking those quiet two seconds to tie up his bag and hold out to Heiji. Good job, Jake.
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: ?)

[personal profile] detectiveofthewest 2015-04-01 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Heiji took the bag and ran off with it, cackling. looked at Jake for a second, then carried the bag away to put in Jake's locker. No use pretending like he didn't know which one it was. Probably it was the one with beard hairs and the faint smell of money.

After a brief absence, he was back. "I asked Calhoun how much it'd cost to get a lock for one of them things, by the way. He said 150."
