one new mouse

It's been two days since the vote. Since then, there has been little activity. The speakers have never been turned on since that day, and there's been no sign of the owner of that voice. No further contact has been made, and it seems as if the group was abandoned again without a clue as to why they're here.

... Unless any members of the group are lucky enough to wake up early enough to catch a glimpse of something, uh, "new"...

In the Greenhouse, while the artificial sky is a reddish colour from "sunrise", a large metal ladder is placed in front of the sickly trees. Beside the ladder is a children's wagon, filled with apples, and on top is an upright mouse with a gas mask... Yeah, as if this place couldn't get any weirder.

The mouse quietly mumbles to itself, something along the lines of "... work... not paid... test subjects... spoiled", and holds an apple in one paw and a tape gun in the other. It appears to be taping the apples to the tree branches, one at a time, occasionally climbing down to grab an armful of apples to bring up. It's only a third way through the pile of apples (which only seems to be about a dozen...) so catch it while you can.

[He quickly looks over when he noticed someone is approaching him. Atsuro barely looks her over when she started talking and he blinks.]

What? [Oh yeah, she asked a thing.] Uh... yeah. I have no idea what's going on. Do you know?

[So he wake up in a strange warehouse and there's this girl who came to him, asking if he doesn't know what's up. Right now, Atsuro really wants information first before he can start worrying about other things. Or anything to calm down his worries, before he starts overthinking things.]

[Two girls, actually. A small girl peeks out from behind Ellie, a cut on her own cheek and bruised legs visible between the tops of her knee-high socks and skirt.]

...H-he's hurt, too! Then was he here earlier as well...?

[ Ellie doesn't have a cool cut on her cheek like you two, but she does sports a pretty awful sliced up hand and her clothes are decently tattered, so it's not great... ]

I think so? But I've never seen him until now... [ She whispers over to Rio (wasn't this elevator empty as well? Did he just appear in it?) then faces Atsuro again. ] But well... We don't know that much more than you. I think we've only been here for a few days? All I can tell you is that we're stuck too.

[His gaze went from the taller girl to the smaller one behind her. He notices the wounds on her as well. And blinks.

"He's hurt, too"? So it's... normal to wake up with injuries? That's just raise more and more questions. He looks back at Ellie and listens to her answer. Which... wasn't that much, but it's better than nothing.]

So we're stuck in some strange warehouse and we have no idea what's going on. No leads? Notes? Anything?

[Must... not overreact and overthink things.]

I don't know about the others, but I got nothing. We got here, found a dead body, had a vote, then you got here. [ Who knew so much could happen in four days? ] There's this weird mouse thing back in the Greenhouse if you want to talk to it, though.

[ Sheeeee didn't get a chance to talk to it yet but she probably will... with someone... ]

I don't like him... but he was taping up apples. Maybe we can eat them...

[It comes out sort of thoughtful, if forlorn. Those apples looked really delicious... ]

The reason we voted was to choose who we thought murdered a girl in the elevator. We chose someone, but we just didn't have enough evidence to know anything for sure. It seems like a lot happened before we lost our memories, but nobody knows what, or why we're even here.

A dead body?

[Okay, okay. One at a time. They got here (like him), found a dead body (NOT LIKE HIM) and voted for who is the murderer. Knowing that there's someone who could be a murderer doesn't do anything to make him feel better.]

Who did you vote as the murderer? If they're here and is really the murderer, that means it's dangerous to be around here.

[He can worry about the memories in a moment. The murderer thing is a bit more pressing and immediate! He did mentally file the thing about a mouse away for later.]

Yeah, no shit.

[ She's not snappy or sarcastic as she says this. She honestly can't believe this whole situation herself. Like, what kind of place is this? What kind of mess did they get into? It's a whole headache, and she realizes that they miiiight have jumped over the dead girl thing super fast... ]

But it was a majority vote, so the "winner" was this super fucking creepy clown. Seriously, just avoid him. It's like his life goal to make you feel really uncomfortable and all.

I-I don't think he likes me...

[She shrinks a little closer to Ellie at the thought. She might just start clinging again at this rate.]

I don't think any of us can do anything against him, though... he's really tall. He might be strong, too...

[Then again Rio's kind of teensy so who knows how much her opinion can be trusted here.]

A creepy clown guy...

[If this situation is anything else, that would be perfect material to crack jokes about.]

...If I see him, I'll stay away from him.

[Maybe. Assuming he won't go and get the clown's side of the story. But right now, all he have are these girls' words to trust in.]

[So what's next? He's just a teenager, he can't handle an apparently adult clown. If he's strong, Atsuro might die if the clown do decide to kill him next...

Okay, okay, don't go down there too much. Yet.]

You guys said something about lost memories? You don't remember anything as well?

[ They thought about tying him up but honestly, after Hisoka seemed to like the fact about being tied together, Ellie got so weirded out that she bailed on that plan... Plus, she probably wouldn't have managed to do it anyway, if he tried to resist... ]

Yeah, I think everyone here doesn't have any memories before here. We know our names, but that's it for me.

[ She doesn't think Rio remembered anything while Ellie wasn't looking. ]

All I remember is my name, too. I haven't heard anyone say they remember anything else yet.

Same for me... all I remember is my name.

[He looks at both of them. It's worrying, that he didn't know anything about himself. What kind of person is he before this? Who are his family? Does he have friends?]

... What are your names?

Ellie.

[ She'll let Rio introduce herself. Doesn't seem nice to do it for her. ]

I'm Rio.

[And this boy would be...?]

I'm Atsuro.

[If this is any other circumstances, he would say "it's nice to meet you", but...]

I'd say 'nice to meet you' or 'welcome to the group', but that seems pretty out of place...

Soooo how about we show you the Greenhouse instead? There's some water you can wash up with.

[She does perk up a little at the mention of the greenhouse.]

Maybe we can ask for some of those apples, too-!

[Guess what her mind has been on.]

[That seems to got his attention.]

I'd like to get an apple as well!

[After all that heavy stuff they talked, he realised he didn't know how long he's been out for. When's the last time he ate?]

All right! Let's go get them!

[ Apples sure boosted the morale quickly, which is good because while the whole situation is pretty depressing, they had to focus on some of the positive sides (and make sure that Rio doesn't cry). ]

[ She leads them back into the Greenhouse, after going through a small corridor first and over to the fenced off trees. The strange mouse with the gas mask is nowhere to be seen (along with his ladder and wagon), but a hastily written note is left on the floor that reads 'BRB IN 30 MINS', so there's that. Ellie leans against the fence, looking up at the trees, where a few apples are taped to the branches. ]

Whoa, they're pretty high up.

[He followed quietly behind them, looking around as they go. If he's stuck here, he should get to know his surroundings better. And not, you know, accidentally get lost.

Once they're at the Greenhouse, Atsuro briefly looked around before he followed Ellie towards the trees. He turns his gaze up and see the apples.]

Whoa, they are. I wonder if we can climb up and get them?

[Rio looks up longingly, her hands folded by her chest. Apparently she has deemed Atsuro inoffensive enough, because she's stopped hiding behind Ellie now.]

It feels like so long since I ate fresh fruit...

[Unfortunately, she's probably a bit on the short side to make much of a climbing attempt here.]

The trees look pretty old though, so maybe we should lift each other up instead? That might be kind of fun.

[ Looking at you, Atsuro. Find the strength within you to pick up one of the girls. ]

[He saw that look. What, does he look like he lifts?]

We could. ...I can try lifting one of you two up?
