ambidex voting #3
![]() After escaping your rooms, talking with others, swiping your Ambidex Room cards, and entering, Calhoun appears on the screen to very briefly explain how the AB Voting works (45 minutes to either choose to Ally or Betray, you gain/lose points depending on what your opponent chooses), but to also introduce this round's prizes. That's right, this round has a whole new set of prizes! They're a bit different from the last round, so listen carefully! For anyone who chooses Betray, they will be getting a standard first aid kit and a can of food. Calhoun noticed that some of you managed to hurt themselves in the puzzle rooms, so he highly encourages you to take advantage of this one-time opportunity for free medical supplies! For anyone who chooses Betray and their opponent chooses Ally, you will get a memory regain instead of a can of food! After all, you'll have access to the cafeteria so it won't really be necessary. For anyone who chooses Ally, well, if your opponent chooses Ally as well, not only will all of your BP increase, you'll even get a gold star of friendship! Doesn't that sound wonderful? If you're the poor sap that chose Ally and got stabbed in the back, well, sorry, you only lose BP, but maybe Calhoun will have something for you. He likes all of his test subjects, so he won't forget anyone here. But anyway, happy voting! Calhoun will see all of you later with the results. |

He hesitated for a moment. "But I guess it's not real sporting to leave everyone else in the dark, huh? I'll let you know if things start going south. You gotta do the same for me, though."
no subject
And he smiled sincerely as he shook his head. "Sounds like a deal. I know there's not much we could do if it got bad but... I don't know, maybe Calhoun would be willing to take an I.O.U. with BP and give us a first aid kit earlier." He frowned. "Now all I need to worry about is Jake not being too stubborn to say something... I hope he's as sturdy and resilient as he keeps acting like he is."

How did muscles make up for hair? Hmm.
"I bet he'd pull something nasty, like 'sure, I'll lend it to ya, but I'll charge you interest -- compounded daily'!" He sighed dramatically. "Wonder what this 'high-quality food' is all about. Considering what normal food turned out to be."
no subject
And Hershel sighed. "That sounds exactly like what would happen. At least we'd get something, at least." Hopefully it'd never come to that though. "Maybe meat that isn't gray? I'm still hoping for some tea... that's wishful thinking, though."
He shook his head. "If you could have any meal right now, what would you pick?"
no subject
He was practically making himself drool here, imagining the sizzling of the grill. "What about you, what'd you wish for?"
no subject
And he considered his own answer for a moment before smiling. "I'm not even sure, anything warm like a nice buttermilk scone and some earl grey... I guess I'd go with something hardy, maybe roast beef and potatoes." ... Now he was hungry, damn. He shook his head, bemused. "Maybe talking about good food was a bad plan."
no subject
...But he hadn't meant to make Hershel hungry again, oops. "Well... thought that talkin' about good food would be better than talking about bad food, but I can kinda see your point."
Suddenly, he perked up. "Say, can I see your hand a sec?"
no subject
Hershel nodded, looking curious at the question but offering both his hands since he wasn't sure which Heiji was talking about. "Sure, what is it?" He glanced down at them, didn't seem like he got anything on them or anything like that.
no subject
"I knew it!" he said triumphantly, brandishing Hershel's own hand at him. "Check this out -- this callus on your index finger. It's from a foil, ain't it?"
no subject
"A foil..." He glanced down at his hand for a moment, eyes widening as it all came together. "Oh! I think you're right, I think I might fence. When you were showing me kendo I had the strangest feeling about it, like it was natural but off."
He looked pretty darn pleased to learn something new about himself that just seemed to click perfectly into place. "Fencing, I wonder why I picked up something like that. Heiji, you're really something else, the way you figured that out. I knew we joke about you being a private eye but I'm really starting to wonder."
no subject
He grinned happily. "Anyway, I bet you picked it up the same reason I picked up kendo! It's real fun, ain't it?"
no subject
He seemed pretty pumped, almost excited rather than his usual, mild bullshit. "It's funny in a way, isn't it? We're from two completely different parts of the world and study two completely different sword techniques but it still feels like the strangest coincidence."
