Chop chop, everyone downstairs to the first floor! You're all done the puzzle rooms, so you know what to do. Well, most of you, but it's pretty basic, just enter any Ambidex Room you like (they're not elevators, you ignorant test subjects) then vote! How does voting work? Very simple! Pick Ally or Betray, and that's it! But with every round, there's always some prizes, depending on what you vote, so here's this rounds:

For anyone who chooses Ally, well, if your opponent chooses Ally as well, then 2BP for each of you. You get all that friendship, blah blah, whatever.

For anyone who chooses Betray, and gets a Betray in return, your BP doesn't change at all, but you do get two cans of food and 15 coins for each person, what, you have a problem with it being the same as last time? We're busy over here, quit your bellyaching.

Now, the best part: for anyone who chooses Betray and their opponent chooses Ally, Calhoun will be very generous with his prizes, again! You'll get two cans of food and a memory! We're switching it up a bit. Also, as usual, those who pick Betray get 3BP instead of just 2.

But if you're the poor sap that chose Ally and got stabbed in the back, well, sorry, you lose 2 BP. At least you got stabbed for the greater good, right? And plus, you might get a little something. He'll talk to you later about it.

But anyway, happy voting! Calhoun will see all of you later with the results.

Heiji was mostly around to check up on Zelos, since the story was that he'd had gone comatose (another worrying thing -- didn't it seem like there were an awful lot of people just keeling over recently?). He hadn't been expecting to find the guy awake, exactly, but it did make things a lot more convenient.

"Hey, you're up! Listen, you got a second? I need to ask ya somethin'."

["Up" is a relative term because Zelos does still feel a little groggy, but at this point, he's fueled by rage alone.]

Yeah, what?

[It's a little flippant and dismissive, but Zelos has limited energy right now.]

Well, that was okay. Heiji kind of figured he knew the answer already.

"D'you remember when ya fell asleep?"

Last night.

[He was more than a little suspicious at first when he woke up after the AB room had finished, but he became very suspicious after he remembered who he was up against that round.]

Which matched what Clive had said. Heiji frowned a little, unsure whether he should say more. But it looked like Zelos was already suspicious, and it wasn't like he had any evidence. And Clive and Zelos had plenty of reason to distrust each other already...

Finally, he nodded. "Okay. Sorry for botherin' ya. I'll get outta your hair."

[Yeah, it's pretty easy to catch what Heiji's driving at. Thankfully, Zelos was pretty sure that he'd already figured out the answer, so there was probably nothing Heiji could say that could make him distrust Clive more.]

There wasn't anything else you wanted to say?

Heiji put his hands in his pockets, looking unhappy about the entire situation. "I dunno. I mean it seems like you're thinkin' the same thing I'm thinkin', so I doubt I got anything new to tell ya. Ain't have any proof, either."

Yep. Kid was being pretty shady about it, though, so that's gotta be proof enough.

[There was no way that this was a coincidence, especially with the way Clive was acting.]

Sheesh, can you believe it? Of all the dirty, underhanded tricks to resort to...

[That were probably completely justified because there was no way Zelos was going to suggest picking Ally.]

"'Shady'?" Heiji frowned. "Whatcha mean by that? He say somethin' to you?"

He was all cocky like, "Do you honestly believe I'd put you into a coma? You don't have any proof!" [Zelos tries to make his voice as much of a mocking falsetto as he can. He also chooses to leave out the sleeping beauty comment.]

Stupid brat. [Zelos crosses his arms. He's just gonna...leave out the part where he tried to punch him. In his defense, the kid had it coming!]

"Oh, so ya already asked him about it, huh?" Well... that wasn't good. In fact, 'you don't have any proof' is exactly what he'd expect someone who was guilty to say, but... gdi, Clive.

"...Hey, I got somethin' else to ask ya while we're here. Clive said you wanted to Ally with Piper. That true?"

Huh? Oh, yeah. Piper didn't seem like someone who'd hit betray, so I suggested we ally.

[Zelos is pretty sure that the other conversation isn't going to get anywhere for the moment, so he'll move on. Eventually, he'll get his evidence, and then he'll have the last laugh. Literally.]

Heiji put a hand to his chin. "But ya ended up pickin' Betray in the end, yeah? Why was that?"

Yes good present that evidence until Clive has a villainous breakdown. Get that Not Guilty verdict!

[Zelos shrugs his shoulders in response.]

Figured the kid had a good reason. Didn't want to get into a fight.

[Besides, it's not like Piper losing BP really affected him anyway. He'd already shot his chances with the rest of the warehouse trusting him by hitting betray on Clive.]

Heiji sighed, reached up, and adjusted his baseball cap. "Probably didn't want to get betrayed again, right?"

Like what other reason would there be.

"She was pretty mad after that one. Although I think she was more mad at Clive."

Eh, that's what I figured. Gotta say though, I'm pretty impressed. If Clive can't trust someone like Piper, I don't wanna see how high his standards are.

[Zelos just shrugs his shoulders again.]

Can't blame her. I'd be pretty pissed at the brat, too.

[Y'know...if he already wasn't anyway.]

Heiji shook his head. "He wasn't like that at the start. Didn't he used to trust you a whole lot? He fought Jake over it, after all."

And Clive was practically microscopic, so that was quite a feat.

Yeah.

[And it's probably ~~completely~~ Zelos' fault; he'd planned on hitting betray anyway, so the least he could have done was give the kid a head's up.]

Dunno what happened.

[Is a complete lie.]

Heiji gave him a funny look. "Whatcha mean, you don't know? You pressed Betray on him, so you must've had a reason, right?"

Yeah, he was with Jake. Doesn't take a genius to guess who'd win in a fight.

[It also didn't take a genius to guess how Jake would wanna vote.]

Hmm. "In that case, why didn't you just tell Clive to sit back and vote Betray, too? So he wouldn't have had to get into the fight in the first place."

Like. Wasn't that the logical thing to do?

[Yes, that would have been the logical thing to do. Yes, that was the thing that Zelos didn't do.]

Eh, didn't think of that.

Well, Zelos. Have this look like are you serious dude aren't you always acting like the smart guy. But Heiji basically had the answers that he needed, so.

"Okay, well, I'll leave ya alone, then. Thanks for talkin' with me."
