ambidex voting #15

A M B I D E X  V O T I N G

Once everyone exits their respective rooms, Zero's voice will be heard over the speakers:

"Proceed into the Ambidex Rooms and cast your vote. You will be given 45 minutes to decide."

And with that, the elevator doors open and the PA system turns itself off. It seems as if there are no rewards or any of that nonsense this time around...

"Perish that thought." A month without Heiji speaking was a disturbing prospect, Hershel sort of assumed he'd ultimately explode holding it all in.

And he shook his head. "Snake's always been private, I'm sure he just needs some time to get his bearings- and no, no blankets or pillows. I'm sure Zero would use that as an excuse to punish you again." He had absolutely no doubt Zero wouldn't be generous enough to let them share anything, he's an asshole. "Don't worry, I've gotten used to the grass. Far more comfortable than the bloddy warehouse floor, that's for sure."
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: coast is clear)

Explode or split into two different personalities Alfendi-style. Imagine that, just imagine it.

"...Well, if you say so." Heiji supposed Hershel was right about that one, but seeing him so bleary did make him worry. "But if you're not going to accept any blankets or anything, I want you to lie down right now. You're going to try and go to sleep before you fall over."

That's an incredibly disturbing thought, what would his two personalities even be. Super gungho for mystery and quiet guy??

Hershel looked reluctant to go with it for a variety of reasons he seemed to consider arguing, but thankfully he's enough of a doormat that he just sighed after a moment. "I suppose you're right, as usual. I think I've seen everyone anyway." He didn't lie down immediately though, instead he glanced to Heiji. "You should go find Snake while I'm sleeping, assuming Zero will allow it. It'll make you feel better if nothing else."
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: hee.)

[personal profile] detectiveofthewest 2015-03-08 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe it'd be more like Jekyll and Hyde. Or Tenma and Johan. Basically what I'm saying is one of them would be a murderer.

"Don't worry, I will. But don't you try to weasel out of this, either! Here, I'll help ya get comfortable." And now he was just going to... fluff up Hershel's fro in the back, I mean it needed to be nice and soft when he was lying down on it, right.

At least one personality could make fun murder mysteries for the second to solve, silver lining.

"I wouldn't dream of it." He would dream of it but shh. He turned to stare a moment, a little slower on the uptake because lack of sleep but when he realized what Heiji was doing he couldn't help but laugh. "Heiji, you're bizarre." He said, amused before shaking his head and lying down.

He casted a discrete glance at his bracelet, wondering if this would be like every other time for the past few days. Still, Heiji was free of it and Hershel's had been lessened too so... hope springs eternal. "Go find Snake, you barmy thing." He couldn't help a yawn, he had been riding on adrenaline from the room for a while but now that he was being forced to lie down yeah. Yeah. It won't take very long for him to fall asleep and..... no shock, yay. Feel free to come find him hours and hours later, otherwise you did good Heiji, you did good.
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: cheeky)

[personal profile] detectiveofthewest 2015-03-09 05:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha, yes, how wonderful. Clearly Lunge would not hunt them down...

"Hey, don't laugh, and don't blame me if you get a crick in your neck from sleeping funny!" But yes, finding Snake.

After Heiji found Snake, though, he'd check in on Hershel. Or more accurately, he'd secretly stick some flowers in Hershel's fro while he was sleeping. Never mind the teenager hovering over you while you were catching some well-earned rest, Hershel...
puzzlinglad: (21)

[personal profile] puzzlinglad 2015-03-10 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
He needs his own Lunge. Either that or Kudou would go after him while also being his best friend, the drama...

Heiji you punk. He probably gets away with quite a few until Hershel blearily started waking up, turning over to stare at the ceiling a moment. "Heiji...?" He murmured as he sat up. He didn't even notice several petals and leaves falling out as he does. "What time is it? Was I-" Oh, he was totally asleep and not knocked out or something. He can't help a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness, bloody Zero..."

"Oh, did you find Snake? Is he alright?" Okay he's mostly awake now, why are there petals in his lap... He just stared at them a moment, confused, before focusing again on Heiji.
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: haha no way)

[personal profile] detectiveofthewest 2015-03-10 05:36 am (UTC)(link)
"Hey, you were really out like a light!" said Heiji, definitely not tossing a flower behind his back to hide it, definitely not. "Makes sense, though, since you hadn't gotten a chance to sleep in forever." He brushed the petals off of Hershel's lap, nothing to see here, clearly. They were blown over by the nonexistent wind.

"O-oh, yeah. I did find him. He's back to his old self; I guess I was worried about him for nothin'." Heiji's color did seem the slightest bit higher than usual, but it was nothing to worry about, moving along...

"How about you? Did ya have a nice dream?"
puzzlinglad: (9)

[personal profile] puzzlinglad 2015-03-10 07:09 pm (UTC)(link)
"Why am I covered in flower petals..." Uh oh, he's catching on, abort abort. He just gave Heiji a suspicious look before having to stifle a yawn, luckily just getting up makes concentrating on this great mystery a little difficult.

"Well, that's good. You sound much more upbeat as well, I suppose it just takes a while for the shock of something like that to wear off. Have you seen Sasuke?" He asked, before shaking his head. "I think I had a dream that Jake was trying to sell a robot arm-"

As he was speaking he went to run a hand through his hair to stop any bedhead, pausing when several flowers fell out instead. He stared at one a moment, picking it up before giving Heiji a Look. "You were sticking things in my hair, weren't you." BUSTED.
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: just between you and me ♥)

[personal profile] detectiveofthewest 2015-03-10 07:22 pm (UTC)(link)
No reason, Hershel, no reason at all. Ignore the flower petals... "Well, you were lying there for a pretty long time," said Heiji, trying to look as innocent as possible. "I mean, it coulda been anyone, really."

Yeah, he totally did it.

"I did see Sasuke. Told him about his memory, too -- most of it. From the way he was actin', I didn't think it was a good idea to go into all the details."
puzzlinglad: (32)

[personal profile] puzzlinglad 2015-03-10 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
He plucked a flower out of his fro, reaching over to put it in Heiji's hair, brow raised. "I see, you would never dream of such a thing, I'm sure." Admittedly there are a lot of possible culprits, this warehouse is a hotbed of criminal activity... "There, you look lovely."

And fun flowers aside- "I'm sure whatever it was it couldn't be easy knowing someone else lived through it now too, especially someone as private as Sasuke. It may be better to make sure he knows all the details though, I'm sure he'll get this memory back one day. At least then he'd be fully prepared." He paused. "Do you know whose memory Snake got back?"
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: what're ya doin?)

[personal profile] detectiveofthewest 2015-03-10 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
"'Course not! Does this look like the face of floral crime to you?" Yes, yes it totally did. 100% guilty.

Heiji sighed. "It's not really what happened, exactly; it's how he felt about it. You know how he's always down on himself. Well, he was down on himself in his memory, too -- real hard, y'know? Not sure if it'd even be helpful to tell him that. How would ya even tell him somethin' like that? 'Wow, Sasuke, ya sure were feeling bad about it when it happened'?"

"Snake got one of Clive's recollections. Other than that, I didn't ask him too much. He seemed pretty shaken up by it..."
puzzlinglad: (20)

[personal profile] puzzlinglad 2015-03-10 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
"I can't say I've reflected on what the face of floral crime even looks like." A gross miscalculation on his part, as he is frequently the victim of these heinous acts.

"I see, I suppose you have a point." Hershel sighed, picking at the petals of one of the flowers he liberated from his hair idly. "I imagine something like that wouldn't be high on Sasuke's list of pleasant topics to discuss. Still, he might want to know the full extent of what you've experienced for himself. Maybe when he's had more time to process everything you should bring it up, give him the choice to hear more and what not."

Oh boy, he frowned. "If it was a visual memory it must have been a sensory overload. Poor Clive and Sasuke, they're such private people, this must be horrendous to them." He shook his head. "I suppose we all will have to deal with it sooner or later though."
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: sigh)

[personal profile] detectiveofthewest 2015-03-10 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Heiji gave Hershel a look. "A choice? You know what he's gonna say. He'll wanna know about it, even if it makes him feel worse. Especially if it makes him feel worse." Because sometimes it was like Sasuke lived to beat up on himself.

"Anyway, as far as memories go, it coulda been worse. I mean, Jake coulda gotten Clive's memory." No one got stabbed or electrocuted, it was a win in Heiji's book... for now.
puzzlinglad: (38)

[personal profile] puzzlinglad 2015-03-11 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
"I know it might seem worse but it'll still be his choice, you know? In situations like this choice is important." You're not wrong, Sasuke is a punk. Hershel offered a small smile. "Think of it this way, it'd be better than Zero deciding to throw around some nonsense about you keeping things from Sasuke, I'm sure he would try it just to cause trouble."

"I think Jake will actually try to keep it secret regardless of who it was, he's quite upset about the whole thing." 'Upset' was a little mild but you know.
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: tsun)

[personal profile] detectiveofthewest 2015-03-11 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
Heiji looked... well, not very pleased. "Hershel... I know you're tryin' to help and all. But you didn't feel that memory, and you ain't the one who's gonna have to break it to Sasuke. So I'd appreciate it if you just backed off. I don't need you tellin' me things I already know."
puzzlinglad: (8)

[personal profile] puzzlinglad 2015-03-11 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
Hershel shook his head, tone apologetic. "Alright, I'm sorry if I was pushing, I didn't mean to be." He stood a little slowly, man, hours of sleep sure felt good. A fan of that. "You probably know him best now, after this. I'm sure whatever you ultimately do will be for the best."

Even if he couldn't really agree on the not telling Sasuke front, but wayyyy too much of a doormat to push that anymore with only the information he had.
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: what're ya doin?)

[personal profile] detectiveofthewest 2015-03-11 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't know about that," said Heiji, scrubbing a hand through his hair. He really wasn't looking forward to it, honestly. "But I do wanna try and make sure he's okay."

Well. As okay as possible, anyway. "So you feel like gettin' something to eat? You been asleep for a while now."
puzzlinglad: (42)

[personal profile] puzzlinglad 2015-03-11 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
"Heiji, you care about him a great deal, no matter what happens he'll know that and it will mean something." Hershel offered with a small, vaguely awkward smile.

He considered a moment- he really didn't feel all that hungry but appetite was a little hard to come by when the menu was grey, grey, lumps and more grey. "Yes, I suppose I should- we should, really. To the cafeteria, then?" And he paused a moment. "You don't happen to have any plastic, or something that could cover a burn without getting caught in the wound like gauze would?"

Hershel you should probably explain why you want this instead of standing there, looking thoughtful about it.
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: ?)

[personal profile] detectiveofthewest 2015-03-11 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
Heiji made a face. "Plastic? I could see if there's anything left in my first aid kit, but shouldn't you let burns breathe a little instead of trapping the moisture in like that? And who the heck got burned?"

Was it Jake, it was always Jake...
puzzlinglad: (38)

[personal profile] puzzlinglad 2015-03-11 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
It was a little of both but you know, Jake's the one who's got the slightly fucked up hand. Shockingly barely his fault this time too, what are the odds. "It's more a scald, Jake's hand seems alright but I was a little worried about leaving it open to infection incase it did blister at all."

He shrugged a bit helplessly, medical knowledge, who did he look like, a handsome Japanese doctor just trying to make it to a better tomorrow. "Maybe leaving it be would be better then."
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: urk)

[personal profile] detectiveofthewest 2015-03-11 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
Yikes, dude. "Well, then you've got more than one problem on your hands. I think I've got some of that antiseptic gunk left, but you know how Jake is about accepting help. Did he at least run it under water? He shoulda, even if he couldn't do it right away..."

Although if he didn't, too late now.
puzzlinglad: (42)

[personal profile] puzzlinglad 2015-03-11 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
"It hasn't really blistered, but it's quite red- do you think it'll be a problem?" He assumed Jake's usually shit of just punching robots wouldn't fly. "He was a bit stubborn but he listened eventually, I got him to pour some cold water over it after we were done with the room. It was all I could really think to do."

He really needed to learn first aid...
detectiveofthewest: (Heiji: I was sweatin' bullets)

[personal profile] detectiveofthewest 2015-03-11 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
"Depends on how bad the scald is, really," said Heiji. It'd really be best if he could see it himself...

"But Jake knows first aid, right? He should at least know enough to dunk his hand in some water afterwards." So why didn't he? Pride? Because he'd deemed the injury minor?

As they arrived in the cafeteria, Heiji grabbed a tray. "You know what, we never really got around to talking about how to treat wounds, did we? Let's do that after this."
puzzlinglad: (42)

[personal profile] puzzlinglad 2015-03-15 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
"He does, he was teaching me a bit." Hershel answered, shaking his head. "We didn't have the time in our room to stop and do that I'm afraid, not much water around either. After the room he put his hand in the stream but I don't know how much it helped, really, after so long."

He paused as he grabbed his tray. "Really, you wouldn't mind? The more any of us know the better, I suppose. With the way things are going-" He shrugged. He kind of expected a few injuries this round of rooms.
