ambidex voting #15
![]() Once everyone exits their respective rooms, Zero's voice will be heard over the speakers: "Proceed into the Ambidex Rooms and cast your vote. You will be given 45 minutes to decide." And with that, the elevator doors open and the PA system turns itself off. It seems as if there are no rewards or any of that nonsense this time around... |

Literally everyone. You couldn't possibly comprehend the level of shame okay Hershel. Heiji had been shot, stabbed, poisoned, and tossed off a cruise ship, but by god he'd kept his accent throughout all those things. Now what was going to happen?
"I tried talking to Sasuke earlier, but... my accent. It's gone." And without his accent...
WHO WAS HE??????????

So he started climbing the tree, clumsily and with a few close calls before he managed to get basically on level with Heiji, offering a sympathetic look when he finally settled near him. "Well... I'm sorry, you'll be stuck with me for a bit. The British are a very stubborn people, you know." Actually this is more Heiji rubbing off on him but shhh.
"Because of the memory, I imagine?" Hershel asked, leaning forward a bit. "Come now Heiji, I'm sure the minute you get another of your own memories back you'll be speaking in that peculiar way of yours in no time, if this doesn't wear off on it's own. Your head must be confused, having a memory that doesn't belong to it."
If that hadn't been Jackie Chan I would I quit rp forever so well done.
no subject
"It's not peculiar!" Heiji said, rather defensively. God, he hated the way he was talking right now, even in this weird unknown language they all spoke. "You don't understand, Hershel. People in Tokyo, if you show up speaking to them in a regional accent, they look at you like you're from the sticks. That's why a lot of people from Osaka learn to speak standard, so they can pretend they're like everybody else. They don't have any pride in where they're from."
Let's all watch Jackie Chan movies....

Hershel lifted a hand, offering an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry, I know it's important to you, just- don't lose hope, you'll get it back. I'm pretty sure you live, eat and breath Osaka, there's no way one memory could take your accent from you." He certainly hoped so at least, he couldn't imagine Heiji would take it well if it didn't. "Worse comes to worse you can always relearn an accent, right?" He's trying.
Also Jackie Chan Adventures because that cartoon was the best.

CURSE YOU, SASUKE, AND YOUR NINJURED MEMORIES.
He'd try to look on the bright side, though. Just for you, Hershel. "You really look tired. You shouldn't be climbing trees when you're that tired, Hershel; I had to catch Sasuke to keep him from falling out of one before."
no subject
Thank you, bud, fight through those ninjuries. "Yes well, you were up here and looked like you needed a little company so I am too." He gave a small smile, everything's totally fine and no one's going to fall out of a tree, probably. "Don't worry, if I feel like I'm in danger of falling asleep I'll climb back down immediately."
no subject
Not exactly the same, but it was the best comparison Heiji could come up with on short notice.
"And don't give me that. Come on and climb down. I'll get down, too, so you don't end up falling over." He dropped to the ground and looked expectantly at Hershel.
no subject
"I-" Hm, well. Okay, he can't fight that. He sighed a moment before starting to climb down, making most of the way before rather gracelessly falling on his ass at the bottom. It didn't really hurt at all but he made a face regardless. "Don't start..." Yes, you were right. He stood, brushing himself off.
no subject
"So now that I can talk again, does that mean you'll be able to sleep tonight, too? Maybe you should try to take a nap now and see what happens..."
no subject
"Possibly?" Hershel looked a little uneasy, mostly because he didn't want to get his hopes up. Still... "We both had our punishment 'lessened' so it seems likely. I'm not sure I want to try just yet though, I want to at least see how Clive's doing after his room."
no subject
"He's tired, but fine; I had to carry him to the shower so he could wash off. He's probably sleeping up a storm right now." Heiji pointed to the grass next to him, don't fight this Hershel. "Now you sit down right here before you fall over."
no subject
"How's his knee?" Hershel hovered for a moment before sighing and taking a seat as directed. "I worry about him, I suppose that isn't surprising but- I don't know. He hasn't had any real time to recover since he starved from low BP it seems."
no subject
"I'll tell you the truth, Clive looked totally wiped out, and I couldn't really tell about his knee. It seemed like it was getting better before he went into that room, though. And he's not deaf any more, so that's something."
no subject
"I wish he wouldn't keep so tightlipped about it. I suppose he isn't as bad as others can be." Jake. Sasuke. Ema. "I suppose this very well dashed some of the progress he made in healing." He sighed, rubbing his temple. "Blimey, his luck... Oh, how was Snake? You've seen him now, haven't you?"
no subject
"I actually haven't seen Snake yet. He must be around somewhere, but it's like he up and pulled a vanishing act! I know he wasn't hurt -- well, he didn't get hurt in that room, anyway..."
But where could he be?
no subject
And he gave Heiji a probing sort of look. "How are you holding up? Besides the obvious effects, I mean." Tokyo-style Heiji.
no subject
"I'll tell you the truth, not being able to talk is the worst. I thought I got off light, and I kind of did, but... I found Jake practically rolling around on the floor from that tear gas, and I couldn't even tell him I was trying to give him some water."
no subject
He offered a smile though, no need to be doom and gloom forever. "You must have a lot to talk about with him when you do find him though."
no subject
/scream
Heiji looked away, a little embarrassed. "...Yeah, I guess we do have a lot to talk about. That's why he'd had better have a good reason for pulling a disappearing act on me. Or else he's going to hear all about it!"
Hmph. "Anyway. Do you want me to try taking some blankets and pillows out of the dorms? It might be a little comfier."
no subject
And he shook his head. "Snake's always been private, I'm sure he just needs some time to get his bearings- and no, no blankets or pillows. I'm sure Zero would use that as an excuse to punish you again." He had absolutely no doubt Zero wouldn't be generous enough to let them share anything, he's an asshole. "Don't worry, I've gotten used to the grass. Far more comfortable than the bloddy warehouse floor, that's for sure."
no subject
"...Well, if you say so." Heiji supposed Hershel was right about that one, but seeing him so bleary did make him worry. "But if you're not going to accept any blankets or anything, I want you to lie down right now. You're going to try and go to sleep before you fall over."
no subject
Hershel looked reluctant to go with it for a variety of reasons he seemed to consider arguing, but thankfully he's enough of a doormat that he just sighed after a moment. "I suppose you're right, as usual. I think I've seen everyone anyway." He didn't lie down immediately though, instead he glanced to Heiji. "You should go find Snake while I'm sleeping, assuming Zero will allow it. It'll make you feel better if nothing else."
no subject
"Don't worry, I will. But don't you try to weasel out of this, either! Here, I'll help ya get comfortable." And now he was just going to... fluff up Hershel's fro in the back, I mean it needed to be nice and soft when he was lying down on it, right.
no subject
"I wouldn't dream of it." He would dream of it but shh. He turned to stare a moment, a little slower on the uptake because lack of sleep but when he realized what Heiji was doing he couldn't help but laugh. "Heiji, you're bizarre." He said, amused before shaking his head and lying down.
He casted a discrete glance at his bracelet, wondering if this would be like every other time for the past few days. Still, Heiji was free of it and Hershel's had been lessened too so... hope springs eternal. "Go find Snake, you barmy thing." He couldn't help a yawn, he had been riding on adrenaline from the room for a while but now that he was being forced to lie down yeah. Yeah. It won't take very long for him to fall asleep and..... no shock, yay. Feel free to come find him hours and hours later, otherwise you did good Heiji, you did good.
no subject
"Hey, don't laugh, and don't blame me if you get a crick in your neck from sleeping funny!" But yes, finding Snake.
After Heiji found Snake, though, he'd check in on Hershel. Or more accurately, he'd secretly stick some flowers in Hershel's fro while he was sleeping. Never mind the teenager hovering over you while you were catching some well-earned rest, Hershel...
